Hello again, and welcome back to GLITCH CURATES. This next journey is brought to you by Nicolas Vogler, a Dj/producer I've taken particular interest in recently through his own label NCLS 

From learning guitar as a child to finding love for electronic music in his teens Nicolas took a similar musical journey to me, its almost no surprise we've got similar taste now. 

Featuring some absolute classics from the 90s and early 2000s, this mix was a real pleasure to preview before its release and its been really tough to keep it a secret since that first play. Fast, groovy, dark and gritty Nicolas REALLY let loose on this one.

Tommy Lewis is a DJ/Producer currently based in Vancouver, Canada. He co-founded and runs the label PHTM (@ phtm.music), hosting his solo releases and featuring talent across the globe. His crate runs deep, you can expect nothing less than Tommy's signature groovy sound while pushing boundaries with his wide range of percussive rhythms. In this mix, Tommy has put together a collection of upcoming/released PHTM releases, including some of his favourite artists and music throughout the year of 2022. You also get a taste of the West Coast sound of Techno, while touching pockets of forward-thinking artists in Europe and Beyond. Tommy is one to watch, especially for the diverse forward-thinking culture of techno and electronic music. We look forward to seeing the future of the young PHTM curator.

Back with the newest podcast for June and this time, it's a special b2b from RNR's founder, DAIYAH and longtime Berghain resident, Fiedel.

Fiedel:
Contrast. Objection. Antithesis. This is how you might start an attempt to describe the world. A seemingly chaos of shapes and thoughts that don’t belong to each other. An overall image to be found in life and in music. But that’s not Fiedel’s view of the world. Where others make distinctions, he sees connections, where others find emptiness, he finds rooms full of opportunities.

Finding those harmonies, connections and contexts marks out his musical work. The synthesis of apparently opposing music, the interaction and the mix of styles and moods, without loosing the storyline, that makes out the characteristic Fiedel sound.

After the wall came down, the way was open to access a fresh scene, and with it came a whole spectrum of new and old music to discover. In the beginning of the 1990s, he started DJing in public as a regular at the Monday events at Subversiv. Shortly after he began his collaboration with his befriended Errorsmith under the name of MMM. They released several productions and play live shows. Since 2000 he is resident at OstGut and later on at Berghain. ...

You can say one thing about Fiedel: he is no techno or house stereotype pattern, that you can put randomly on a every evening or club. He is lead by his history, the history of the music and the feeling of the moment to build something new and to capture this very moment. Let it be the straight dark techno of today, banging acid of the 80ies or an electro funk record, Fiedel surprises. He undermines and overrides expectations and refrains to limit the music for any reason. He lets the music speak for itself, through himself.

DAIYAH:

DAIYAH, founder of RNR (Rumble N the Ramble) is a dynamic force in the New York techno scene and beyond. Her sets, often described as unexpected, unhinged, and wild, draw inspiration from the harder industrial sounds while blending that with the unbridled genre, experimental. DAIYAH has brought her heavy and fresh sound across multiple cities in North America and Europe. Her party, RNR since its inception has hosted some highly coveted talent and is known for its stellar lineups that provide a consistent vibe all night long.

Her roots started in house music back in 2017 when she achieved two residencies in New York City playing as a duo. In 2019, DAIYAH went solo and took with her an unwavering and growing passion for techno music. Having played all od the major parties and venues in New York while going back and forth to Europe in between, she is known in the community for her captivating sets that roar out to the audience immersing them in space where chaos of the best kind can thrive.
DAIYAH has a knack for creating stories that generate seamless impact and facilitate an unparalleled atmosphere. Through her meticulously curated selections, she illustrates dedication for her craft. Her goal is to search through the most sensual and deepest bowels of the sound to make a space that immerses you in the moment.

Whether its one of her multifaceted sets or her multi-sensory events, you’re in for a journey where sound is celebrated in a way that encourages freedom of expression. DAIYAH is a kindred spirit to the underground and thrives on feeding off the intimacy created with her crowds.


You can catch both Fiedel and DAIYAH this weekend at Basement. DAIYAH will be playing on the 23rd and Fiedel will be playing on the 24th for BOUND’s annual pride party.

With an impressive surge in popularity over recent months, Varuna is emerging as an artist in the underground techno scene. Enamored with the sense of unity that arises on sweaty dancefloors, her goal is to create more of this unity and connect people with themselves and others through music. Her upbringing as the child of a former drummer and percussionist helped shape the foundations of her sound as it is today. With driving rhythms, tribal influences, hypnotic polyrhythms, natural elements and immersive atmospheres, she creates an energy in which you can completely lose yourself, where you become no one and everyone at once.

Born and raised in Haan, DJ Klosing’s love for electronic music began 10 years ago when he first went partying in cologne. He startet djinng not long after and had his first clubgig 6 years ago. In 2018 he started his first residency in the infamous underground club @basmnt_426 alongside his partner in crime @viktor_426 with wich he started their own label in 2020, wich is known as @sekt_sellz_recordz . His soundscape moves between various electronic sub genres but his true love and most passion varies between pounding techno grooves, heavy synths and hedonistic and ecstatic dancefloor weapons.

LYRIC comprised of both @lyza.selected & @ericson.selected started this project a year ago with the idea of collaborating their sounds.
