Good Room resident Lauren Murada warmed things up at our Good Room Members Party on April 23, 2022. She got in this hour and forty minute set ahead of Leon Vynehall and Planet B that was too good not to share. She set the vibe with some slower tracks that pull at the heartstrings before upping the tempo with some modern-day disco by the likes of Crazy P and Tensnake, mixed in with classics by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Kano. In true Lauren fashion, there are some secret gems thrown in for good measure too.

We're not quite sure if Il Bosco is a real person or a cyborg that stalks Manchester's more salubrious night spots. One thing that is for sure, it's human alter-ego Christian Wood is most definitely real and presides over Manchester's Red Laser Records, a vinyl only Italo influenced love letter to music from a bygone neon era with a refreshingly forward thinking attitude. We recommend you check out his blog, a searingly honest and acerbically witty view of all that's wrong with the state of most of the current dance scene. Look out for forthcoming releases on Red Laser from our very own Nick Smith, Ste Spandex and a double gatefold compilation of 'mad rare Italo bangers'. More 80's Italo gems - :D - This mixtape is the resuslt of some extensive digging through the records in my studio while in an 80's Italo mood. My record collection is in no order and takes me days of constant digging to get through. This usually results in finding records that i forgot i ever had! RE-DISCOVERY i think its called. Anyway while i had the pile infront of me i thought i better get them recorded. This is what happened for the next hour after. Be warned. I do not organise and practice perfect mixes using a computer. I simply get the records i want recording and hit record on the CD burner. For me it captures a moment in time. There may be the odd push and drag of a record as i battle my way through the mix trying to keep everything as smooth as possible but a lot of the time im mixing live bands which is diffcult. One take drama in effect!
