A big part of why we do what we do at Delayed is to create a platform for like-minded artists as well as connect in a worldwide community with music lovers who also appreciate a more soothing sound. It’s a best case that we are now able to feature Hame, an artist that comes straight from this community. He appeared in 2022 with his first release, “Compathy” on Lola Haro’s new born label Small Steps - and immediately touched listeners, bookers and us. Unsurprisingly he got booked for a live set at DOEL Festival and we strongly believe that all of you shall get to know the Amsterdam-based artist and get an impression of his approach, journey and of course, his music.

With a musical journey encompassing the release of the beautiful 'a move' long player and the creation of awe-inspiring remixes, including recent outstanding work for Ben Kaczor, Lb Honne has firmly established himself as an artist to watch.

In this exclusive mix, Lb Honne treats us to a hybrid set, skillfully weaving together unreleased gems with carefully selected fragments from his extensive record collection. At this point, Shy One might be familiar to most music fans as one of the hosts of NTS's daily breakfast show, Soup To Nuts, where she helps listeners across the UK and Europe settle into their morning routines with an eclectic and soulful selection of dance music and downtempo. But the London artist has been around a lot longer than that, with a discography that goes back well over a decade. 

She started releasing music as a regular on Scratcha DVA's label, and it was there that she sketched out a recognizable but impressively varied approach rooted in her home base of London. On her records, Shy One sometimes feels like London incarnate, synthesizing the histories of Black British dance music—drum & bass, grime, UK funky, broken beat, jazz, you name it—into one syncretic and immensely appealing sound. But her music glows with the warmth of American deep house, too, which lends it a timeless, ageless quality that has proven immensely appealing. She furthers this mission with Private World, a party she started with Ruby Savage. The name kind of says it all: she's inviting you to her own personal space, but what awaits is a whole wide world of music and culture.

Her RA Podcast feels like a hybrid between a club DJ set and her morning show, and here, she zeroes in on a the lineage of American house music from the '90s and beyond, featuring tracks from the likes of Green Velvet, Marcellus Pittman, Roy Davis Jr., Wbeeza, Jay Daniel and more, plus a spotlight from Baltimore club king DJ Technics. It's patient and easygoing but perfect for a small dance floor (or a livingroom party), focused but stylistically diverse. It's everything we've come to expect from an artist like Shy One, who weaves stories and histories with her DJ sets, and does it effortlessly, too.

A tribute to Jamie Tiller. NM033 is a bow of gratitude for his abundant generosity, musical heritage and kind friendship.

Regular listeners may have noticed the frequent shout-outs to Jamie - for good reason. Especially many of the ambient records he gave me introduced me to a lot of amazing music and discoveries, with lots of spins both on air and at home.

Here's a waaay-too-tiny selection of a few personal favourites, records and for the most part, Music From Memory releases he snuck into my bag, and shared with the world over the years. And some clumsy anecdotes. Apologies for any messyness on the info-parts, this is by far the most difficult episode I've ever done.

Good friend and constant source of inspiration Alex Albrecht, joined me to celebrate my 300th episode of Passing Notes.

Few artists channel a consistent stream of creativity like Alex Albrecht. With over a decade of music-making under his belt, Alex has cultivated a distinct and frankly iconic musical identity. Effortlessly shapeshifting between experimental jazz, ambient, atmospheric house, and deep techno, Alex’s compositions are marked by an environmental undertone that imbues them with a uniquely “Alex Albrecht” earthly sense of place. Simultaneously anchoring and weightless, the common thread between it all is Alex’s ability to leave listeners safely ensconced in a swell of emotional resonance.

Improvisation and exploration are at the heart of Albrecht’s craft. His constantly evolving and captivating live performances have taken him to far corners of the globe, with appearances at iconic venues like Bassiani in Georgia, Monument in Norway, and Vent in Tokyo just to name a few. Each journey fuels his exploratory nature, offering new opportunities to immerse himself in the world around him. Field recordings serve as an auditory journal—postcards sent home to evoke memories of space and place that form the ever-important foundation of his creative process. These recordings provide a naturalistic canvas upon which Alex layers syncopated rhythmic subtleties and soaring, colorful synthetic brushstrokes.

It was an honour to have Alex performing LIVE in the studio to celebrate this milestone together and share in his music that will continue to inspire us all.

Though highly respected by her fellow jockeys for her mixing style and impeccable skill at that, she's a fan first and a club kid at heart - which seems to be a major reason for her ability to immediately connect with different kinds of crowds in various settings. As a DJ, Marie is known for her dynamic and engaging sets, which seamlessly blend together different styles of house music. Her performances have taken her to some of the most prestigious festivals, including FUSION, GARBICZ or NACHTIVILLE and Clubs like Frankfurt's ROBERT JOHNSON, Hamburg's PUDEL or Berlin's HEIDEGLÜHEN, to name just a few.
