Claptone Live @ Be Crazy at The Ushuaia Tower

An upload of my recent Dj set at Logo Club, Lyon, France. One of those nights that turn into something really special, thanks to the incredible energy on the dancefloor and the open mindedness of the crowd.

As usual, with a mix of my personal alltime weapons and a lot of unreleased stuff, out to be in the next months on OFF Recordings!

I fucking love Tuesdays. Said nobody ever. So to brighten up your Tuesday afternoon we have a nice little treat for you in the form of an exclusive mix from the mystery wrapped in an enigma himself: Claptone.

Little is known about the DJ/Producer with his biography describing him thus: "In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded dark- ness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescent light, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone."

Whether or not that is a true account remains open to debate (although we'd put nothing past the avian-mask wearing maestro) but what we can confirm is that he has delivered yet another storming mix for us at Data Transmission ahead of touching down in London at Electric Brixton for Tube & Berger’s much anticipated Deeper Sessions on February 21.

Claptone est un producteur et disc jockey berlinois, Allemagne.
Il se fait connaître en 2013 avec la publication du titre No Eyes. en collaboration avec Jaw du groupe dOP.
Selon le magazine The Jazz Line, Claptone est en partie responsable du succès de l'album Liquid Spirit de Gregory Porter. L'album a obtenu le disque d'or au Royaume-Uni après la diffusion dans l'émission Essential Mix de BBC Radio 1 du remix du titre éponyme, ce qui a poussé les fans d'électro à écouter le titre original.
Claptone porte un masque doré en forme de bec ainsi que des gants blancs, pour que son identité reste un mystère.

Claptone is a producer and disc jockey from Berlin, Germany.
He became known in 2013 with the publication of the title No Eyes. in collaboration with Jaw from the dOP group.
According to The Jazz Line magazine, Claptone is partly responsible for the success of Gregory Porter's album Liquid Spirit. The album earned Gold in the UK after the remix of the eponymous track was aired on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix show, prompting electro fans to listen to the original track.
Claptone wears a golden beak-shaped mask and white gloves, to keep her identity a mystery.

Mes influences sont ce que je vais entendre tous les jours, ça peut être le chant du vent autant que celui de Justin Bieber. Tout ce que j’écoute m’inspire et me donne de nouvelles idées. Chaque décennie a eu ses musiciens comme Hendrix, Kraftwerk, Frankie Knuckles, Nirvana, the Wu Tang Clan, Skream ou encore SIA qui ont ouvert des portes et conquit de nouveaux royaumes musicaux pour les déposer à mes pieds. Et ils font cela pour chacun d’entre nous. La musique n’est pas seulement le plus beau des présents à offrir en live, elle réunit aussi les gens, comme disait Madonna.

My influences are what I will hear every day, it can be the song of the wind as much as that of Justin Bieber. Everything I listen to inspires me and gives me new ideas. Each decade has had its musicians like Hendrix, Kraftwerk, Frankie Knuckles, Nirvana, the Wu Tang Clan, Skream or even SIA who have opened doors and conquered new musical kingdoms to place them at my feet. And they do this for each of us. Music is not only the most beautiful present to give live, it also brings people together, as Madonna said.
