London based Italian-Ivorian Producer and DJ Ehua has been taking the UK music scene by storm for a number of years. Following her debut on London based label Femme Culture ‘Diplozoon’, Ehua continued their strong string of releases from Nervous Horizon to Orphan Records: a string of releases which, over the years, has accompanied playing at some of the biggest UK clubs and festivals.
In 2019 Ehua soundtracked 'M I R R O R S', a live audio/visual dance performance that toured across Africa in association with ‘GRIOT’ the online magazine that Ehua co-runs with Johanne Affricot and Eric Otieno. GRIOT’s main focus is to amplify contemporary culture, arts, music and style from Africa and the African diaspora.

Ehua’s connection to the music is clear to see and it runs heavily through everything that they are involved in. Their own sonics are a hybrid of beautiful African percussion and rhythms fused with hypnotic minimal techno, and the driving movement in the music means that throughout Ehua’s sets and productions it is almost impossible to dance.

Since bursting into the club music consciousness with a clutch of future-facing bassy bangers on Femme Culture back in 2018, London DJ and producer Ehua has been quietly refining her percussive, full-bodied sound through sets, mixes and releases.

For her debut contribution to crackaud.io, that agenda can still be heard (and felt) loud and clear. Head-spinning reworks by the likes of DJ Haram and Equiknoxx are skillfully stitched into cuts by globally-informed bass innovators like Object Blue, Blacksea Não Maya and a closing spacey dub construction from Livity Sound-approved Tunisian producer Azu Tiwaline.

Our advice is to play this loud.

Next up in our mix series is one we've had in the works for a while and comes from Chicago-based @nishkosheh, (aka. Alyssa Beers).

Alyssa is one of many bright stars in the burgeoning US dance scene, regularly appearing alongside names such as Kiernan Laveaux, Russell EL Butler and the Hot Mass crew - a scene known for genre-bending, tempo switching sets with an underlying sense of freaky late night exploration. Here they pivot between housey grooves, psychedelic chuggers and post punk without missing a beat. 

In their own words - "more than most, this mix marks this specific moment in time. i've got some new friends who've become major influences on my taste and don't know fully how much they push me, and i can see that coming through for sure. it's definitely a swirl of fast and slow. i love to  jam all kinds of tracks together, in this case i think it worked out but my biggest hope is that in the end you can tell that i'm having fun."
