Some people may know Steve Bishop (AKA Oneman) for his harmonious blends of UK garage and dubstep, some for his grime knowledge, and some for his love of UK funky. More than anything though, he’s best known as one of the UK’s best DJs, never falling to the often-restricted boundaries of genres and sub-genre labels. Cutting his teeth at seminal nights like DMZ and the once-pirate radio station Rinse FM, he’s been a frontrunner in a league of selectors who’ve made a name from their skills behind the decks alone. In 2012 we had him bless us with FABRICLIVE 64, a pleasantly juxtaposing journey through classic and contemporary UK underground cuts. His edition in our long-running series reached from the far corners of various interlinking scenes, with standout moments like Fis-T’s Night Hunter and Joy Orbison’s modern classic, The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow. Ahead of his appearance with L U C Y and Sgt. Pokes at Refractions this weekend, he’s hit the decks for a rhythmic mix covering the kind of UK bass-inclined territory he’s made his strong suit.

Timothy Clerkin is an Amsterdam based producer, live act & DJ, who has been releasing records, playing live & DJ’ing all over the world since 2010.

After spending a number of years cutting his teeth as one half of international DJ duo the Eskimo Twins, he has been releasing music under various solo names for a number of years now.

With a string of rabidly received EP’s with his birth moniker under his belt, he is now touring his electric & ambitious live show, which has been described as a filthy, extensive journey through clubbing.

2018 saw him launch his own label ‘Insult To Injury’ which, after only a handful of releases, has already been heavily supported by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Optimo, Vladimir Ivkovic, Ivan Smagghe, Erol Alkan, Lena Willikens & Lovefingers.

This is a pure club mix from the artists stacked full of plenty of dance floor smashers plusing through a eclectic mix of electronic gold, through ambient electro, techno, breakbeat and chock full of acid. Rave on.

Initially known for producing and spinning some of the darkest, heaviest music to come out of the early U.K. dubstep scene, Appleblim (Laurie Osborne) has continued to produce innovative, bass-heavy club music, blending elements of techno, ambient, garage, jungle, and other styles. Along with Shackleton, he ran the highly influential Skull Disco label from 2005 until 2008, when he founded his own Apple Pips imprint. He has regularly collaborated with Ramadanman, Peverelist, Second Storey, and other producers, and has remixed Harmonia & Eno, Bonobo, and even Claude Debussy. In addition to regular appearances at trendsetting dubstep night FWD>>, Appleblim has performed at prestigious clubs and event series such as Berghain, Fabric , and The Bunker.

DEXT SESSIONS EP01 [with APPLEBLIM]

artist statement: "Music has maybe been the only enjoyable escape for me during the pandemic, and my relationship to it has taken on a new shape given that I only listen at home alone, mainly on headphones, and at odd hours. I’ve used Ableton to DJ for over a decade now, and this mix is no exception—though I wanted to do something different here, given these new listening patterns. So this is more of a 'mega mix’ style studio session, with lots of layering, edits, and quick transitions. A bit phrenetic, but the intention was to reflect some of the unease and uncertainty of the moment, while revisiting tracks I played at my last two in-person gigs in New York alongside many favorites from my years growing up in Chicago." @ken-meier
