As you would expect of someone called Lovefingers, American DJ and producer Andrew Hogge has a very special touch when it comes to making, playing and releasing emotionally involving, blissed out music. Hailing from LA, he runs the magical ESP Institute label and is also half of The Stallions as well as being a self-proclaimed hippie. That always comes through in the organic, loved up music he works with, and visual aesthetics always seem just as important to him as musical ones. 

The romantic and intoxicating mix he serves up is dedicated to Red Light Records owner Tako Reyenga and Mule Musiq affiliate Kuniyuki Takahashi. It is a loose-limbed, love-fuelled and fully horizontal delight made up of underlapping grooves, oriental motifs and gluey pads. The second half touches on more physical drums but also offers up yet more heavenly ambiance, bird song and jumbled percussion that will have you reaching for your shades and dreaming of summer.

Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania and now residing in Berlin, Borusiade aka Miruna Boruzescu started dj-ing in 2002 as one of the only female DJs in the city's emerging alternative clubbing scene. 

Inﬂuenced by a classical musical education and fascinated by raw electronic sounds Borusiade combined these elements in the construction of her DJ sets and starting 2005 also in her music production. 
After experimenting with different projects, Borusiade slowly crystalized a sound of her own, often dark, with poignant bass lines, obsessive themes and by all means melodic.

Her DJ sets combine bold and obscure sounds and genres fluctuating mostly in the field of Dark Disco, EBM, tropical mutants with an Acid touch. The sound is gloomy and powerful, with beats that touch one’s deepest senses on the dance floor.

2015 she joined the label Cómeme and hosts The Dreamcatcher on Radio Cómeme.

Hypnotic Groove Mix #132 - Borusiade

Lee Gamble is one of the most adventurous producers, label bosses and DJs in the electronic world. Over the course of four album projects and many EPs he has explored the ghost of jungle, abrasive ambient and textural techno in thrilling and compelling ways. Formerly releasing on Pan, he now heads up his own UIQ label and with it has curated some of techno’s most exciting new sounds. As well as DJing, he is behind a regular NTS radio show and tours a mesmeric live A/V show that always encourages you to escape and get lots in unfamiliar musical worlds. 

The two hour mix he serves up for is the freaky, left of centre post-rave adventure you would expect. It’s disorientating and non linear. Initially it focuses on texture and mood more than groove, then his jungle roots bubble up, and just as you think you know where you are going, Gamble pulls back and descends into bleak cinematic soundtracks. Unpredictable and wilfully contrary, like his own challenging productions it is a masterclass in sonic subversion that reveals more with each new listen.

Less than a month to go until we are back in Tisno, it only feels like yesterday we were at Barbarella's listening to this fantastic woman warming up the Saturday night.

Having been part of the festival for the last couple of years we thought it was time to ask Saoirse to do a mix for us, what she has delivered is a perfect final warm up before we venture back to paradise. From balearic ambience to sunkissed breaks, this 60 odd minutes shows another side to the Irish born DJ’s collection, her Sunset Sounds.

Saoirse plays on the Garden Stage & Make Me boat on Friday 29th June.
