Prolific French producer Mael Péneau aka Maelstrom swings by for an exclusive Bleep mix, and unsurprisingly lives up to his tumultuous moniker. His hour-long exercise in combing through his hard-hitting obsessions begins firmly on the left-field with some viscous acid from short-lived Toytronic super-trio Abfahrt Hinwil, coasting down the low-end into the hardened balaclava-donning electro of Megaphonim and the dextrous lo-fi rhythms of Minor Science. Alongside his selections of underground innovators and contemporary big-league players, Péneau delivers a host of rugged techno brick-breakers from his 2021 LP Rhizome.

As we were afraid that the movement would run out of steam, we thought of a compilation whose profits would be donated to the strike funds.

Beyond the financial help, the objective of this compilation is above all to keep the flame alive, to remotivate the people and to bring support to the strikers.

Last Wednesday, in a hurry, we proposed to DÔME artists to compose tracks from speeches and popular protest songs, so that they could accompany Vulve Assassine and Dalle Béton on Thursday's strike and the following ones!

Following the lost of our sweet raver and Astropolis co-founder Matthieu, we hesitated to release this compilation, but the situation is urgent and we are sure that these great edits would have amused Matthieu a lot.

So here is a 5-track compilation, featuring what we hear and shout every week in the street in a dance version, hence the name "Manif Hits".

S.R. gives us the urge to revolt with "Metro, Boulot, Caveau", Jonfaustus delivers a terribly effective electroclash version of "Les jeunes dans la galère, les vieux dans la misère...", René Danger and the students of the Beaux Arts du Mans on the chorus unite in a Steve Reich / clapping style, Swing Loww underlines the lack of empathy of the leaders, and Blutch covers "à cause de Macron" of the feminist collective Les Rosies in a disco/house way.
