Randstad is the music moniker of Dutch artist Thomas van Linge, co-founder of record labels BAKK and Rubber. Despite being a prolific DJ and producer, Thomas is multimedia artist and author of many interesting art pieces. To celebrate his recent contribution for Murder Mix series we talk with Randstad about his beginnings, inspiration behind his work and what is it like to be a contemporary artist and make art beside DJ-ing and producing music. @thomasbakk

Mala Herba is a solo project of sound artist and queer music activist Zosia Hołubowska. The music draws from darkwave and minimal synth-wave but sometimes the melody cracks, the voice becomes a magic spell and the song transforms into a noise soundscape. Polyrhythmic pulsations are stacked on top layers of harsh noise and processed archival samples and then arpeggiated bass kicks in again and the music oscillates between haunted italo-disco and EBM.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Alekzandra. The Berlin-based French artist has a rich and diverse background as a DJ and producer. Her musical DNA starts with minimal synth-wave as well as experimental drone ambient which has naturally led from her more dancefloor- oriented performances to EBM and Industrial Techno. 
Currently she is the resident of Sonix, a monthly event taking place at Suicide Club in Berlin. Today we are thrilled to present this great mix which journeys through synth, wave, industrial and beyond.

Years of Denial [Pinkman / Veyl, UK]

Years of Denial is the alter-face of French musician / DJ / producer Jerome Tcherneyan and Czech performance artist / DJ / producer Barkosina Hanusova. With the use of hardware combined with vocals and a plethora of dub devices, YOD are re-visiting the dark corner of Post Punk, Industrial music movement and Rave culture. 

Their live Electro performances fuse repetitive beats and pulsating arpeggios with heavy electronics and spacey psychedelic sonic treatment.
Barkosina’s voice echoes and oscillates against snares, profound and wounded at once. Her dark romanticism and narrative poetry take us to unknown yet familiar places. The duet operate on the dance floor without anesthetic creating an excursive electrifying shady atmosphere.

Both influenced by Isolationism, they also perform improvised cinematic Ambient sets with the use of modular synths and processed vocals. They draw upon the darker and profound stimulus of experimental music, creating an immersive and dramatic imaginative space.
