Solid Steel in association with Serato (7th August) It's Marquis Hawkes in Hour 1 this week, giving us his first mix for Solid Steel. Following releases on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Creme Organization and Clone Jack For Daze, he released his second EP for Houndstooth earlier this year. The Berlin based producer delivers a perfect summer selection from the likes of James Mason, Mr Fingers, Andres, Theo Parrish, Nebraska and Louis Armstrong. He told us;
"This mix encompasses a variety of styles, ranging from key pieces which were always influential to the Marquis Hawkes sound, through to both soulful and chunky house cuts, old and new."

Something on a different tip from us! A UKG all vinyl special. One half of JOY SOCIAL grew up listening to and playing UKG. After over 10 years collecting dust, pulled out a stack of records from the racks and had a mix. Definitely a little ropey but had so much fun pulling this one together. Feat tracks from labels and artists such as Locked On, Nice ‘N’ Ripe, Relentless, Inferno, Todd Edwards, Tuff Jam, D.E.A Project, Y-Tribe, G.O.D, MJ Cole, Bump & Flex and a whole load more. Needed to post this one on a Sunday eve as a nod to the original Sunday scene where UKG was born in the early 90s. BIGGUP 🤜🏽
