We’re delighted to present the 16th Bassic mix, this time with drum and bass legend Digital at the controls.

The last couple of years have seen the veteran producer return in an astounding manner, with a plethora of releases to his name in that time. Digital collaborated with Spirit for ‘The Wolf EP’ on Metalheadz, debuted on Dispatch with ‘Red Alert’ and still found time to make appearances on Horizons, Ingredients, V Recordings, Commercial Suicide and many more.

With Phantom Audio’s first release since 2013 out last week, attention is now turning to another of Digital’s imprints in Function (which this year has released the highly sought-after Dub Phizix remix of ‘Deadline’ and the hard-hitting collab with Drumsound & Bassline Smith ‘Bail Out’) where there’s a huge project in the pipeline. The various artists and collaboration only album is penned for a spring release and will feature the likes of Digital, Spirit, Total Science, Klute, Om Unit, Amit, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Nomine, Need For Mirrors, Response and more.

Its 2 years ago today we lost our man Duncan Busto aka Spirit. Feels like there's a big black empty hole where he used to be... (And there's a mahussive hole in my DJ sets too!!!) we all miss him! So back in Feb this year we had a cracking night for him @ Village Underground on Sunday 9th Feb 2020 featuring a quality line-up. Massive thanks to each & every DJ & MC who performed on the night, even our crew that couldn’t make it to the show due to the adverse weather & severe storms cancelling flights, trains & causing havoc on the roads…! 

But mostly we want to thank you all for the love & support when it comes to Duncan. You guys are just the best for showing up in full and making it such a great vibe, we had all crews in the building from across the UK & Europe! Hit the links below and listen back to the night & enjoy. RIPSpirt

NOS, along with his late brother, Mark, formed the music production outfit Hidden Agenda, who released in the early Drum'n'Bass scene on many influential labels such as Metalheadz, Creative Source & Reinforced.

Following up the Dispatches trilogy on Metalheadz, Hidden Agenda started their own label, Dispatch Recordings, as a platform to release a second album and their own solo material as NOS (Jason) and Max Fresh (Mark). Initially aided by Ant TC1 on managerial duties, Ant TC1 now runs Dispatch Recordings to this day.

Jason stepped away from the music scene for a lot of years, started a family and settled into a 'proper' job, always expecting to keep producing and go back to it eventually. Following the death of his brother to cancer in 2016, and much self-examination consequently, he's making the return, in Mark's name as well as his own.

Jason has set up a Patreon for a direct link between himself and anyone who wants to join him on this journey back into drum and bass; if you become a patron, apart from his eternal gratitude, you will receive exclusive mixes, unreleased/exclusive tracks, early access and he will try to fulfil as many requests and suggestions for content thrown at him. Put simply, your patronage will allow Nos to get out from under the things that are in the way and get him back in the studio full time where he needs to be!...absolutely any contribution made will make a huge difference to Jason, thank you.

In celebration of this return to music, NOS has created the Journeys Mix series - a retrospective trawl through the Hidden Agenda back catalogue, featuring a mix of classics, rarities and unreleased tracks.
