CEM’s unique brand of emotive hysteria was forged in Herrensauna’s hedonistic Berlin furnace in the last few years, and as one of the party’s two core members, he has been at the heart of the operations since its inception. With the party attracting more and more attention for its critical contribution to Berlin’s queer community, as well as their raw italo-metal aesthetic, the opportunity came to move into Tresor, where it has cemented its place as a unique addition to Berlin’s nocturnal topography. CEM’s role in all this is twofold—firstly, as curator of the party’s unique mix of frenetic DJs and industrial-edged live performances; and secondly, as one of the resident DJs. The sheer pace of Herrensauna’s preferred grade of techno is offset by his enigmatic presence and selection. It’s a crucial edge of the party, and it’s rightfully brought CEM to the world’s attention.

MCMLXXXV is perhaps best known as a founding member of Herrensauna - the beloved queer party originating in Berlin - but the influence of his curational work resonates much further afield, encompassing the spheres of music, art and fashion with a sincere appreciation of subcultural movements and their associated aesthetics.
His DJ sets celebrate a countercultural approach to electronic music, drawing upon an intense, seductive fusion of charged rhythmic tension and obscure sonic imagery. With a comprehensive knowledge of genres ranging from EBM and electro to hard trance and industrial, his ability to weave seemingly disparate references together is the result of years spent dedicated to the underground, in all its grit and glamour.

Herrensauna reflects the need for a queer-led techno event in a city where underground and mainstream sit tensely alongside each other, and gentrification threatens the vast network of cultural spaces the city calls its own. Despite its name - a tongue-in-cheek reference to the clandestine culture of gay men’s saunas - it is the sense of community at the parties, which have now travelled the globe, that lend to their ever growing influence across the queer diaspora.

Upcoming highlights include showcases at Dekmantel Festival, Sonar 2022, as well as the release of the second V/A EP on Herrensaunas own Label featuring Slikback, Isabella, Crystallmess and more.

Deep into the 24 hours, just as the sun began to rise, we were treated to the sheer power of our resident’s modular setup that left us all shaking to the core, spellbound by what we had just heard.

"It’s pretty raw and ‘hype’ if you ask me! Think I have been inspired lately by a bunch of new open-minded people I’ve met and going through a period of sexual discovery slash liberation. It’s quite some story that I won’t repeat here, but a couple of friends were engaged in some high jinx in the room whilst I was recording this and I think it really fed the energy of the mix!

@Anethamusic is a trained Architect based in Paris, now fully dedicated to music and focused on developing her career as a DJ, producer, and Label Manager.
As a leading figure of the new generation of French DJs inspired by EBM, trance, electro and old school 90’s techno tracks, Anetha knows how to make people dance. She always tries to offer an intense, energetic and unpredictable journey to her public, with a strong and fresh tracks’ selection.

Production-wise, Anetha has released her first EP on Work Them Records in 2015 and tracks on different labels since then, including a successful one called Acid Train on the great Anagram imprint in 2017. In 2018, she released two acid ravy tracks alongside the talented Hector Oaks on a split EP and another EP called Bionic Romance on Blocaus Series, the first imprint she had co-founded with her collective since 2016 to develop the French local scene.
And now, she’s managing her brand-new solo project called Mama told ya – a label focused on sharing and experimentations which promotes alternative talents and different forms of art while seeking to push boundaries through the release of some unprecedented collaborative tracks.
The first release of Mama told ya set to release later this month is a split EP containing tracks from Fast Forwards own Sugar.
Anetha is also to perform at the upcoming 4 Years of Fast Forward the 2nd of November in Copenhagen.

Swedish born SPFDJ is a renegade spirit and ruthless DJ. She describes her own style as "trashy" and has said before that she disregards anything that might sound happy. To that end, she brashly bangs together techno, EBM, acid, industrial and trance in provocative and confrontational ways. She does so at her residency at Berlin's Herrensauna and also runs her own Intrepid Skin label, both of which are defined by big, banging kick drums.  

And so is this mix. 75 minutes of blistering textures, serrated synths and hammering drums that make for an impenetrable wall of ever evolving sound. As unrelentingly forceful as it is, monotony stays at bay thanks to the quick mixing and variation in mood, from marching and militant to acid and electric. Strap in, hold tight, and prepare for the ride of your life.
