Background est un activiste des scènes électroniques et expérimentales franciliennes depuis plus de quinze ans. À la tête du webmedia et collectif SeekSickSound, il est aussi membre du collectif bass music The Bass Society et un résident de la radio Rinse France depuis son lancement il y a une décennie. Il est le co-fondateur du label Syrinx Music, et joue des synthés et machines au sein de plusieurs groupes noise/expérimentaux (Haxo, Ritaline Tsouko. Lutèce 162, Magnetar).

Dans ses DJ Sets, Background se spécialise dans la bass music sous toutes ses formes, avec un esprit punk et une volonté d'ouvrir les frontières musicales et d'hybrider les styles. Breaks, syncopes et subs dont toujours au coeur de ses sets, qui brouillent les lignes entre grime, garage, breakbeat, jungle, rave et bien plus, dans leurs dimensions les plus exploratoires, de 100 à 200bpm.

Background is a sound explorer and activist of the electronic & experimental scenes in Paris and beyond. He is the head of SeekSickSound, a French electronic media and collective, as well as a member of bass music collective The Bass Society and a Rinse France resident since the launch of the station over ten years ago. He also co-founded the label Syrinx Music and plays live electronics on various noise / experimental projects (Haxo, Ritaline Tsouko, Lutèce 162, Magnetar).

As a DJ, Background specialises in bass & club music in all its forms, with a punk ethos, a taste for sub bass, and the aim to open music borders and crossbreed styles. Breaks, syncopated drums & minimalist subs always remain at the core of his sets. His mixes blur the lines between grime, garage, breakbeat, jungle, rave & many more, with a love for their more adventurous sides, from 100 to 200 BPM.
