Ben Gomori aka London-based producer and label chief G.Markus channels a vibrantly ethereal sound in his Square Peg, Round Hole EP, consisting of two sun-soaked house rollers. Opener Choom kicks off with a titillating crescendo, padded by warm vocals and a chunky bassline. Acid glitches add dance appeal, while keeping the melody afloat in an upbeat manner. Karumi is a slice of luscious piano house, with scintillating pads and an overall dreamy atmosphere. All in all two tracks to melt off any tensions and get feet moving at any time of the day or night.

This mix was recorded live on twitch during Errik Munk Tyler's online memorial. As he was preparing to leave San Francisco some years ago to begin his wandering journey around the world and getting rid of his non-portable possessions, he saved one crate of his favorite drum & bass records, and left them in my care, until the day he could reacquire them from me. 

Sadly that day never came to pass. 

On Saturday, October 5th, many of his friends from around the world hosted and partook in an over 24-hour online memorial, to fondly recall, reminisce and share stories, songs, pictures and music pertaining to Errik. During this memorial, I recorded this mix live using records solely from his chosen crate of vinyl favorites (tracklist below). Most are records I recall him playing during our many DJ sessions in the early to mid/late 2000's. Since they were well loved and enjoyed, they were well played, and have seen countless DJ sets at Errik's hands. As such, they are not all in pristine condition, but every scratch, pop or warp on the vinyl is a testament to his love of these records and the music, scene, culture, people and vibes they represent. 

It was difficult and painful to unearth and sort through some of his most treasured possessions, and I did my best to put together a set of tunes I know he loved, to honor his memory. He will be forever missed.

To escort a small and soulful cloth collection in cooperation with none other than Detroit’s finest Kenny Dixon Jr aka Moodymann, we asked his old buddy DJ and producer Andrés to prepare a mix for Carhartt WIP Radio that travels through the catalogue of Moodymann's labels KDJ and Mahogani Music. The result is a stunning mix that shows that Andrés aka Dez is the truth of a DJ. His mix consists of classics like Moodymann's I Got Werk or Shades Of Jae besides his very own productions like Love Hurts or Salvador de Bahia. Soon we feature an extensive interview with the Detroit based drummer, percussionist and producer whose activities include a loose membership of Slum Village alongside J Dilla, a string of releases on KDJ and Mahogani Music, 2012's smash New for U on his own La Vida imprint, as well as success as remixer and DJ.
