In our new ethereal memories rubric we recall important events in the world of music.

For the first edition, we invited the organizer of a series of daily events Angelwave, which have been held since 2015 as an alternative to the usual raves. At different times Malibu, COUCOU CHLOE, Oklou, Torus, Lorenzo Senni, Sega Bodega, Air Max'97, Moa Pillar, FMSAO, MAX 100PERCENT and others performed there.

The author shared archival photos of events, recorded a mix and gave an interview in which he told about the ideas of the project and the plans for the future.

@wwwings have never met before – well, IRL that is. The trio are spread across thousands of miles of Central Asia. Lit Eyne lives in Tyumen, Siberia (or as he dryly calls it, “Cyberia”), Lit Daw in Kiev, Ukraine, and Lit Internet on the Kamchatka peninsula in the far east of Russia, near Japan. They met, befriended each other and now produced music together as WWWINGS entirely URL, largely through forums and the 100 million-strong VK social network. Their IRL and URL lives are almost as separated as each other in distance, too. “It feels like you exist only URL, because IRL u can be eaten by bears or die of the cold,” says Lit Eyne, via the Telegram instant messenger network. “Even if we like the nature in our places, corruption is everywhere and we ain’t respect dat laws about censorship, lgbt and internet. It’s easier to communicate through music here.” As the latest signing to British experimental electronic label Planet Mu, WWWINGS fold in internet-centric club and experimental electronic music to create a patchwork landscape of oblique, playful and almost anti-harmonic sounds, from generic tropes gradually stripped further and further away from their original source materials. As with their debut EP on Planet Mu, PHOENIXXX, WWWINGS have created a Choice Mix that reflects their scattered deluge of sonic interests.
