Bio:
A steady and fulfilling path has been walked by Means&3rd aka Ben Marsden to get him to the creative space he currently occupies.
A Manchester resident since 2007 his musical education has been nurtured by the city and the experiences that have come with it. First beginning with his musical education, shortly followed by many years of promoting events and culminated in securing a place behind the counter at one of the UK’s finest record stores, Eastern Bloc Records, where he currently curates the House and Techno sections.
A local favourite and regular of Manchester's White Hotel, Warehouse Project, Soup Kitchen, and the close quarters of Eastern Bloc's very own club night his DJ'ing style has matured over the years to convey a more textured, headier but no less driving vision of techno that is always cohesive within its layers and never struggles to provide a boundless dynamic, especially when given the chance to play extended sets where he truly thrives, a keen intuition developed from over 2 decades of DJing.
More recently he has zeroed in on his production skills with 2021 seeing the launch of his own imprint 'Unveiled Nuance' which will serve as a platform for his own productions and a true introduction to his sound as an artist. After years of meticulous analysis of his craft and the invaluable knowledge gained via the record shop, he has truly begun to sculpt his own sonic identity with a sharp attentiveness to detail.

Border One is a C12 regular, who has amassed an irrefutable reputation in Belgium and beyond since the release of his first 12-inch record in 2015. For the past fifteen years, Rotterdam-based DJ and producer Benny Rodrigues alias ROD has been carving out a lane of his own in the realm of contemporary techno. Piling up one massive release after the other for the likes of Axis, Figure, Soma, Klockworks or his own record label, Rod20, the Dutch artist has been laying the foundation to a catalogue driven by thrill-seeking curiosity and a vibrant desire to bring techno into a whole new dimension, just as the pioneers did. That epic-sized vision and deeply innovative breath infuse both ROD’s studio productions and sets, and his RYC podcast vouches for that very ground-breaking, limit-busting take on the medium. Flush with galloping grooves, mind-altering distortions and heavy-duty analogue funk, the present mix is as much an ode to the early scene’s unfading visionary impulse as it is a future-ready manifesto for our age.

Reclaim Your City 638 | ROD

From Europe’s southern tip in the Gibraltar-facing port city of Algeciras comes ORBE, the Spanish techno enthusiast whose potent beats have hammered out a pedigree path both as DJ and producer. Prevailing winds carried Fernando Sanz first to Seville to study sound engineering, later to Madrid where the fertile scene allowed him to build a community of music-minded friends that have put that city squarely on the map. Under these conditions, his work (what he terms a means of ‘contacting the future, the avant-garde’) has developed into something much deeper and more sophisticated. His love of artists like Brian Eno and Boards of Canada, and roots in breakbeat and drum and bass have informed a style that’s allowed him to take up the mantle as one of Spain’s most interesting talents. Under his self-titled record label (est. 2014) come his signature killer tunes, and in his work with names like Eduardo de la Calle and labels like Token, Hivern Discs, Axis and Mote Evolver a pole position at the forefront of modern techno. Fresh off his set on the Bassiani floor (14th March) comes this next Bassiani mix. Tensile rhythms that lurch ahead with supernatural power, an involute web of intelligent sounds that attest to his skill as selector. Bassiani Podcast 254 is an hour-long mash up of elfin beats, a vibrating hymn to the sounds of tomorrow, Orbe at the top of his game.

The Manchester based artist can be found behind the counter at the legendary Eastern Bloc Records where he fronts the house and techno curation for the shop.  He has leveraged his exposure to the latest sounds there to promote his own Unveiled Nuance events and label as well as securing performances at events throughout the country.

"I aimed to create something that reflects where I am sonically right now. The aesthetic of the deeper sound has expanded so much lately, touching on all sorts of BPM's and vibes, and I've really been loving every bit of it. This music requires some patience and a commitment to fully appreciate it, which is one of the reasons it continues to captivate me so much.
