Ben Rama is a progressive techno producer from eastern Canada. His unique blend of deep driving tech grooves and subtle, haunting melodies has captivated dance floors ever since unveiling his live set in 2010. Heavily rooted in the progressive psytrance of the early-to-mid 2000s, and drawing upon influences of more modern techno movements, Ben's sound is able to encompass both aspects of light and dark, often within the same track. While not one to shy away from hypnosis inducing melodic structures - some of the fresh sounds emanating from the Rama studios are decidedly darker in tone, a reflection of Ben's interest in dark and psychedelic minimal techno.

In 2015 by Ben Rama and Alexander Synaptic founded the label "Techgnosis" and now is home to over 2 dozen artists from all corners of the globe. With a focus on collaboration and cooperation between label artists, the aim is to foster a sense of unity in the progressive and psychedelic techno underground.

Dieser Spruch aus einem bekannten Science Fiction Epos ist wohl vielen von uns bekannt. Auch in der Realität behält diese Aussage ihren Wahrheitsgehalt. Die dunkle Seite erschafft Neugier. Das Ungewisse was sich verbirgt und sich nur Eingeweihten öffnet. Es ist interessant, weil es nicht gut ist. Und schon wollen wir es noch mehr. In der Wissenschaft nennt man das den  „Forbidden-Fruit“-Effekt. Es geht zurück auf die Geschichte von Adam und Eva, welche der Versuchung der verbotenen Frucht nicht widerstehen konnten. Verruchtes und Mysteriöses scheint unsere Urinstinkte zu wecken und uns zu verführen. Das Dunkle ist stark!

Diese Faszination des Düsteren hat Karl Kirschmayer versucht in seinem Set einzufangen. Es lebt von seinen Synthesizer-Sounds, die sich wie Nebel über euren Verstand legen und euch immer tiefer hinab in die Dunkelheit ziehen. Könnt ihr der Versuchung widerstehen?

This is The Prologue, my first-ever mixtape. It’s a special one-hour creation I’ve made which features some of my favorite music of the moment, as well as two brand new Rinzen originals.

The theme of my first mixtape is “The Prologue.” It’s about the beginning of a great journey. It’s about that nervous anticipation of setting out for the first time in pursuit of one’s calling.

The theme is reflected in the music of the mixtape. It’s a blend of otherworldly progressive house, tribal techno, and darker, more cerebral compositions.
