Classic techno 2013-02-25

A cover of the early 80-s song by Visage called Fade to Grey. Not designed to be a replica of the original, simply a cover by RIL. All sounds made from scratch with nothing sampled from the original. Sounds made on a Roland MC909 with some FX processing on Ableton Live. Extra work needed on the lead vocals here and there, which we'll get around to doing at a later date, but on the whole, we are happy with it as it is.

Roughly 1991 to 1995 and the sort of pounding analogue 909 beats I was dropping at Eurobeat 2000, Knowledge, Analogue City and Helter Skelter's Technodrome. Loosely speaking, it's on a Beltram -Armani - Landstrumm flex. Great days, great days…..

Influences range from early mid 70-s to 80-s electronic music through to 90-s, dark and goa trance, acid house, drum&bass, hardcore, noise and avant garde. Cited influences include Caberet Voltaire, Clock DVA, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk up until "Computer World", early Human League, Ultravox, John Foxx,  Stockhausen noise based music, Soviet composer of electronic music Eduard Artyemov and others.
