Aside from working as a doctor, Mama Snake was previously a member of the now-disbanded Copenhagen collective Apeiron Crew. In the years since the crew parted ways, Mama Snake built the multi-disciplinary platform Amniote Editions, which platforms artists such as Celestial Trax, D.Dan and Yuri.

Her entry into the Crack Mix series is both sleek and percussive in the first half, before it dives into her signature style of hard, tough and tunnelistic techno.

Initially DJ and coming from an industrial rave background, 131bpm grows his outstanding digging skills while playing in illegal parties, constantly looking for new sonorities. Always sweaty and sexy, his sets are very eclectic, built from punchy techno to vocal electro breakbeat, smattered with Chicago ghetto house and 90s groovy tracks. Strongly implanted in the queer techno Berlin scene, he played in places like Whole Festival in Ferropolis, Lecken and Members in Berlin, Sous Tes Reins in Paris, and in Milan for Solida and Vitamina where he is a resident. He released his first 12" in January 2020, "Rim That Snare".

THE MIX:
I didn't really know which direction to take with this mix. I first recorded a full 145bpm techno/breaks set, angrier than ever and probably reflecting our current world and my life situation. But then, the sun came out in Berlin (where I am based) and I wanted to raise the temperature even more. So I recorded a different one: slower, sexier and housier that reminded me about crazy Panorama Bar closings... Now the sun is gone again (tears), but I'm sure this mix will help you go through dark days :)
Fun fact: I realized while sending the mix over that its size is 131MB!

UK dance music has always been defined by its eclecticism. And few artists capture that better than @yazzus-1. Both her sets and her productions are turbocharged tornados that collide rave, breakbeat, techno, jungle and footwork. They are playful and knowingly over-the-top, take in plenty of bootlegged edits and have landed her on labels like Diplo's Mad Decent, Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs and the legendary Hospital. She co-runs her own Rave Litany party and has DJed as part of the 6 Figure Gang so basically never takes her foot off the gas, whatever she is doing. 

It is no surprise then that this week's mix is one of the most hard-hitting we have had in a while. Everything is turned up to 11, from the fast mixing style to the faster beats. It explores all kinds of techno from bass heavy to twitchy, raved-up to old-school nose-bleed. Later on, there are warp-speed explorations of juke, footwork and club that leave you gasping for breath but desperate for more. Strap in!
