A - Audio - Don't Shut Me Out

Continuing in the 25th Anniversary celebrations, the next drop sees Brazilian hotshot L-Side step up for his debut CIA Records release. 
The increasingly prolific producer has been on a warpath over the last few years, writing killer tracks at an alarming rate to entrench his name on the drum & bass landscape. 
Setting off the release is a remix of Total Science’s tech layered 2018 track ‘Fallen Angels’, as L-Side captures all the technical groove and old skool snippets from the original, whilst imprinting his own signature stamp. Dialing up the levels on all sides, but still retaining that essential swing and groove, the rework brings the track right into 2021; perfectly primed for soon to be opened dancefloors. 
‘Untouchable’ follows on from the remix; an original production from L-Side that is quintessential CIA, with an infectious vibe that instantly feels at home with the label’s pioneering sound. Haunting chords and sweeping synths are kept in check by tantalizing percussion and above all, a murmuring, chest shaking bassline that is constantly moving, scoping and delving.   Making his mark on the label, L-Side delivers something special to cap off a fearsome first foray.

L - Side - Untouchable

Next up to dine at the CIA top table is none other than The Infuriator himself, the infamous T>I. Making serious waves over the last few years to say the least, T>I has become a name synonymous with stripped back and minimal trickery and his ‘Locksmith EP’ brings that trademark Norwich Colmans ping as standard, getting you more than ready to lob your Fray Bentos Chicken & Mushroom across the front room. 

We probably all know that anger that comes when you have to call out ‘The Locksmith’. My guy’s going to sting you for a chunk of cash to drill out your front door. This could be the soundtrack to either the drilling or the murder style the track suggests. 

Sounding possibly repentant for lobbing that pie, but probably not, as they definitely deserved it, ‘Bongolian Belt Roller’ rolls and chugs it’s way alongside its classic soul sample. 

And pies are flying all over the shop with ‘Let It Go’, it’s classic breaks teamed with new school drums and whopping bass stabs. And it sure would be a totally ‘Valid Statement’ to say this EP’s gonna pop off; V style samples and knocking bass taking you to some sweaty underground Bristol rave in 2045.

Once a member of Commix, Conrad Whittle has forged a powerful new alias, Saikon, and we’re proud to present his latest offering – a five-track beast of an EP entitled “Better Late Than Never”.

Whilst the name Saikon may be new, the detail-oriented approach to crafting sublime tracks is years in the making. Having debuted on Hospital Records at the end of 2017 Saikon is back with a raft of fresh tunes designed to inspire the listener and ignite the dancefloor.

The smooth rolling basslines of title track “Better Late Than Never” and “Get Over You” work beautifully in contrast with the funky vibes of “Light Leaks” and “This Song”, while “Reassurance” is a stone cold DJ Marky favourite, having been an ever-present in his sets recently.
