Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the British dj & producer Operator(Soma Records / Gnosis Records).

Operator is the alias of UK electronic music artist, engineer and DJ Rich Jones, known for his Techno and House productions on Soma, 8 Sided Dice, Kanzleramt, and Greta Cottage Workshop, over 18 vinyl releases to his name, and having been remixed by Mark Broom and Joey Beltram over the years.
After 6 years of releasing music under his own name, Operator, alongside Richʼs imprint Gnosis Records, was born in 2012 to allow free reign to explore his own unique take on Techno, influenced mainly by the sound closest to his heart - that being the hypnosis inducing tribal tinged percussive loopy sound of the late 90s/early 00ʼs that he grew up on. 
With Operator, and Gnosis Records, the theme was to be on the transcendental nature of ‘flow statesʼ induced by repetitive percussive rhythms and altered consciousness states, with a nod to spirituality, psychedelia, futurism and cyber punk aesthetics, all things close to Richʼs heart.
Today we are thrilled to host this killer set which perfectly puts his sound in focus.

Sounds From NoWhere Podcast #165 - Operator

Ben Long and Jamie Bissmire formed Space DJz  in 1995 with their 1st musical outing - On Manoeuvres in uncharted Territories   this was released on the sub label of Creation Records  called Infonet Recordings. The highlight of this EP was the seminal electro track Celestial Funk.

During the course of a 25 year career the DJz have put out over 60 Ep’s , 2  full length Album’s  3 mix Cd’s and over 40 remix’s featuring on labels such as Novamute , Soma , BEK Audio , PercTrax , Kombination Research , Driving Force , Beardman , Phobiq , Sinewave and many many others.

As the first Techno partnership to ever DJ on 4  turntable’s and 2 mixers spawning many a copycat act they have taken their sound across the globe , very few  countries have not witnessed the unique style ,  knowledge and musical attitude that only Ben Long & Jamie Bissmrie can deliver behind the decks and  on the dance floor . Touring Australia and Asia 9 times , South America , USA , Russia , Japan , New Zealand and countless of the big Festivals and Raves across the European circuit.

Jerome Hill is the dictionary definition of “the DJ’s DJ”. In terms of pure technique he’s one of the very best out there - cutting and scratching like a hip hop pro, but blending like the deepest techno maestros - but none of that ever comes at the expense of delivering pure pleasure to the dancefloor. Whether he's playing techno, rave, hip hop, funk and soul or anything else he turns his hand to, his first priority is always the atmosphere and crowd vibe he's creating. And his dedication to all that's best about rave culture extends to running his clubs and labels with the emphasis firmly on honouring the music, and doing right by both punters and artists.
