Krause is the late unwanted child that sprung from the loins of the Athenian underground.  As any child of such fate, at the end of 2015 they amassed their collective contempt for this world and gave it back to it with their debut LP “2AM THOUGHTS”, that is to be released as a collaboration between Riot Season (for EU & the world) and 3 Shades of Black (for Greece) in late January ’17. “2AM THOUGHTS” will also be presented in its entirety soon after its release in a very weird night with equally esteemed guests.
 
Even though the band are veterans of various scenes and genres, with active and past members of VULNUS, Cut off, Rita Mosss, Casual Nun, Progress of Inhumanity, Dusteroid and Straighthate, Krause was formed with the intention of playing 90s-inspired aggressive and dirty noise rock in the vein of AmRep bands like Unsane, Helmet, Today is the Day, Cherubs and more, something that none of them had done before but have long been huge fans of.
 
As members of other bands, they have shared the stage with bands like Cursed, Burst, Knut, Stamping Ground, Bong, Drunk in Hell, Consumer Electronics, Luminous Bodies and more.

As part of the ongoing Utech Records' ten-year anniversary, the label is pleased to offer Hollow – a sax/drums/electronics piece recorded by Dead Neanderthals and Sten Ove Toft. Issued as a lathe cut record, the 7" was released in an edition of 50 copies available exclusively via Utech Records.

Sex Swing have long been one of this site’s favourite groups, so we’re happy to announce that we’re releasing their blazing self-titled debut album via tQPC on Friday 25th November. 

Sex Swing are the British underground supergroup that shouldn’t even exist. One member has survived a plane crash. One has survived (and won) a chess/boxing match against an opponent with the (entirely deserved) nickname ‘The Finnish Hammer’. Another has survived being struck by lightning. And one has even survived jumping out of a moving train straight into an industrial trouserpress full of cobras. (Actually we made the last one up, but the others are 100% true.)
 
But survive they did, to bring you an album which is like a heady combination of Suicide, Joy Division, The Thing, Brainticket, Motorhead, Harmonia and “Third-era Portishead tweaking on brown acid” (according to Clash magazine). 

For those of you yet to have the pleasure, Sex Swing comprises Tim Cedar (keyboards), formerly of Ligature, who fronts Part Chimp and runs Dropout Studios in Camberwell; Jason Stoll (bass), a member of both Liverpool psych champions Mugstar and Bonnacons of Doom while also running God Unknown Records; Colin Webster (sax) is involved with a plethora of free jazz projects (including Dead Neanderthals) and releases many of them through his Raw Tonk label; Dan Chandler (vocals) sang in the masterful Dethscalator and Stu Bell (drums) played in the same and Gin Palace, while newest addition Jodie Cox (guitar) currently also plays with Seattle drone metal overlords Earth. 
 
The LP is a rising epiphany of carnal sonic force that spangles one into submission by dint of its gleeful and cleaving weight, the record places the band at the forefront of the darkest and heaviest end of noisy avant psych. Imagine some hellish pan dimensional Krautrock marching band clad in ill fitting, bong water and Buckfast splattered, suits fronted by David Yow, conducted by a wildly inebriated Conny Plank and waved along by Jus Oborn and Dik Mik and you’re still not quite there. This is music that doesn’t so much ebb and flow as trounce and mangle. Boasting a staggeringly, hellishly, loud production job by Joel Eaton, Sex Swing is about primal animal body sonics.
 
As Quietus editor John Doran states: "When I first saw Sex Swing live it was like diving headfirst into a white hot volcanic vent and then being instantly vapourised by everything true, righteous and sublime about music. After the gig there wasn't even any discussion about it. Luke and I immediately decided we had to put their debut album out."

JASSS "Weightless" [First Floor Premiere]

In physics, entropy is a quantity generally described as the measure of disorder within any kind of thermodynamic system, including the universe. It counts the microscopic states that system can assume when open, interacting with others or getting altered by external conditions.
Thus, entropy makes for the perfect description of the way Ilpo Väisänen (Pan sonic, I- LP-O IN DUB) and Dirk Dresselhaus (Schneider TM, A S S, Locust Fudge) have approached music creation since the establishment of their collaborative project Angel (now die Angel) in 1999. Allowing energy to flow freely through machines, bodies and different acoustic conditions, they’ve generated a powerful archive of mutating sonic states. A kind of creative attitude that favors exploring the physical complexity of unstructured electronics.
That’s where the title for their first release on Cosmo Rhythmatic comes from, “Entropien” being the Finnish word and the German plural for entropy. Getting back to the stripped down set of their beginnings (modular synths, effects, and processed guitar), they’ve come out with one of their most, intense, rawest and noisiest albums to date, showcasing an impressing scale of dynamics while attacking the senses with belligerent tones. Oren Ambarchi also shows up on two tracks, intertwining his drums, field recording, and guitar within the duo’s discordant layers.
