Exclusive: All Is Well & Martin Iveson - Cosmos (Telephones Subspace Remix)

For Internasjonal's latest release two scene mainstays teamed up – namely UK-legend Martin Iveson, also known under his Atjazz moniker, and Canadian House pioneer Fred Everything under his All Is Well alias. Their track Cosmos dates back to a common studio session of the artists a few years back, but their work remained unreleased yet not forgotten on AIW's hard disk. In 2020, during the first lockdown in spring, he decided to work on the take by “stripping it down to its essential message.“ Now Cosmos' time has finally come and is additionally provided with remixes from Internasjonal's label head Prins Thomas and Telephones. The latter, who is currently living in Berlin, has quite an impressive discography with releases on labels like Love On The Rocks, Running Back, Sex Tags UFO or his own imprint European Carryall. His approach to Cosmos is to open up a completely new meta level of the track by creating an almost Balearic and less Disco-esque vibe. It's exactly this feeling or the easiness that comes with the vibe that leads one to the more sunny side of life with catchy spheric chords that transport one to an almost forgotten beach party, where people let themselves go to the music, move their feet in the beat of the music while their arm movements break into the floating atmosphere caused by the pads. It's this positive dreaminess that encompasses Telephones' remix and makes ones mind wander back or maybe even forth to a brighter future.

All Is Well & Martin Iveson's Cosmic EP will be released on Internasjonal on March 12th, 2021.

Riotvan & Can't Decide - »Streams Are My Reality«

In pandemic times of telepresences and social distancing, Live At Robert Johnson and Leipzig’s own Riotvan team up for a magical musical mission. Encompassed by the graphic design of Michael Satter & Panthera Krause, each of the five tracks has been created by teams representing both label crews and their environs, rendering a truly synergetic effort.

A1 is Roman Flügel & Rebolledo producing deep and wide Star Stuff with arpeggiated bass riffs, haunting vocals, and melody. A2 sees Jennifer Touch & Chinaski setting off on an electroid Synth-Pop trip, with crafty 1980s synths, drums, and vocals. A3 is New Hook and Perel teaming up for a Cosmic Disco tinged track, featuring unique spanish-english vocals.

The flipside kicks off with Fort Romeau & Panthera Krause on B1, heavily into a stereophonic and proper Italo soundscape. Horkheimer & Peter Invasion & Gregor Habicht conclude the EP on B2 with a wicked technoid Breakbeat along a modulating bassline and, yeah, a looney laugh befitting these crazy times.

Exclusive: DC Salas - The Weight Of Uncertainty (I:Cube Remix)

With EPs on Correspondant, Live At Robert Johnson or his own label Biologic Records, DC Salas has built up quite an impressive back-catalogue over the past two years and the Brussel-based artist does not seem to slow down. His latest four tracker, The Weight Of Uncertainty, will be released on long-standing British label Futureboogie and keeps up the prosperous path. Provided with three original tracks the EP also comes with a remix from legendary French producer Nicolas Chaix better known under his artist moniker I:Cube or as part versatile producer duo Château Flight, for the title track. Legenary because I:Cube has been responsible for one of the electronic music scene's most important tracks, namly Disco Cubism, and remixed Daft Punk's Around the World. Furthermore, the Parisian has worked with iconic artists such as Joakim, Prins Thomas, Tornado Wallace, Vermont – just to name a few – over his more than two decades lasting career and to pinpoint it: I:Cube has dedicated himself and his passion to music, and the latter has found a source to trigger emotions through his work. For his rework of DC Salas' The Weight Of Uncertainty Nicolas kept the bleepy chords from the original version but puts them into a different sound-surrounding as the pads that accompany the original elements create a rather ambient vibe.. However, if one expected an ambient track is proven wrong because the I:Cube remix is still dancefloor-oriented as it unfolds its hypnotical-touch with a repetitive vocal that seems to echo in the foggy-pads and lure the dancers and listeners at the same time into the track's, into I:Cube's cosmos.

With over 2 years in the making, the debut of Luis Leon on Nie Wieder Schlafen feels like a long overdue salvation. The highly explorative mind of Luis (Chapter 24, Kindisch, L'enfant terrible, Prosa Verso) has always fascinated us - and while the right moment has taken it's time, his sound was always admired in some shape and form. At last, we were finally able to capture his vision in our framework, which allowed his sound to prosper in new ways. With incredible patience and careful selection throughout the last years of communication, Luis Leon's debut comes with the name of "My Ears Have Tears". The expansive EP holds 5 tracks, including a non-stop adventure with 3 deep and unforgiving progressive stories, gently held together in between 2 ambience projects, the later of them in collaboration with new and returning NWS talent Haider Uppal.

From the main title track to the fast and rhythmic patterns of "It Won't Be Long", Luis captures an array of experimental grooves, which do not shy away from breaking boundaries and mixing various influences of his own. Filled with textures, vocal inputs and heavy dancefloor patterns, the release holds true to the sound of Nie Wieder Schlafen, while moving on to explore different sides of the atmospherical world of electronic music.

"My Ears Have Tears" strikes with a cinematic and pulsating bassline synth that sets an eerie tone for the production to move within. Transforming and almost liquid pads, filter through the mix and create broad soundscapes, that layer above the bassline, that is further supported by very wet shaker patterns and muffled texture compositions.

The ideas of hypnotic base rhythms and long drifting sounds do extend to the next track called "Take the Gun". Wunderous vox-like pads open and close in a breathing-like sense, while a ruthless and quick bass/kick pattern fills out the low end space, to build some heavy momentum. Long-lasting, almost noisy spaces fill the tension within the groove, while the fading but long one note pads decay in the abyss with subtle but effective glides. It invokes a mysterious space that is explored with excitement.

The core dance tracks are finished up by a tempo-rising final production, which pulls the concept of the release through an ecstatic state and intensifies all described ideas to eleven. The ambiences supported by snappy hit patterns prepare the listener to buckle up for a quicker experience, that holds true to Luis' unforgiving rhythmic bombardment, that works so well in an ambience filled space. Almost goofy drum patterns put into such a quick state, are liquified through the countless atmospheres, which Luis layers on top of each other and seasons the whole production with textures and influences from his love of japanese anime. While the most experimental track of them all, we believe "It Won't Be Long (To Dance With You)" shows the most of Luis' character and what he is inspired by. The main titles of the track are blessed by the release introducing "Understanding of Re" and the EP conclusion "Des Magiciens" (in collaboration with Haider Uppal), which both play a huge role in setting the framework of this whole extended play. The experience of going through the whole release does alter the experience of all these tracks, especially opening up the listeners for the final track, that might bring so much more joy, when understood in its full concept.
