Paradise Palms goes from strength to strength as it forges new paths through 2017. The dive bar and venue turned vinyl record store & label recently announced its second release in the form of a digi-single by Parisian Art-Noir experimentalists "Hey Mother Death", with their third release taking the form of a dance floor oriented 12” of specially curated remixes for Record Store Day 2017. This limited pressing includes remixes by fourprogressive new dance artists prominent in Edinburgh & Glasgow. A1: Glasgow’s Mr TC and a LYO fave opens the show and contributes a dark, chugging, psychotropic interpretation sure to please fans of his highly regarded EPs for Optimo Music.

Hot off the press comes a brand-new label from veteran of the scene Stefano Ritteri, showcasing his trademark love for obscure samples and synthesiser exploration. 
The title track is a sumptuous amalgamation of analogue synths, far-reaching, left-leaning samples and crisp-as-you-like drum programming. It’s weird and wonderful, enticing you deeper and deeper with every added element. From the wonky glitches, to the fuzzed out, Middle Eastern guitar and exotic vocals refrain. 
Take to the B side and you’re hit with a rhythmic workout combining modular electronics, sci-fi infused samples and intergalactic synth work. Rounding off the EP ‘It Isn’t About That’ is a downtempo beatsy number, laced with dubbed out effects and an introspective monologue about the merits of music as a medium of expression.

Ripperton's 'Niwa' album has without doubt been one of the highlight releases of 2010, and continues to impress and surprise with each and every remix EP. Having already been treated to the wonderful revisions of 'Random Violence' (Joris Voorn) and 'Leonor's Lanugo' (Radio Slave), the Swiss 
producer continues to enthrall with his latest remix invitations... 

Being presented with the tools to create, does indeed give you a head start. However it is the vision, and skill to be able to realize it, that sets great producers apart. To say we have been presented with two outstanding revisions falls short of doing them justice, for French House legend I:Cube ('At Peace') and Berlin based producer Mark August ('The Sandbox'), have created two, quite outrageously brilliant masterpieces.
