As Floyd proudly states “ I draw inspiration from the magic of Africa and expressing the future through an unlimited sonic expression which I call African Techno. For me when I think of Africa I envision beautiful enigmatic bright colours, I see humility, I see pain, I see joy, I see determination, I see perseverance, I see dance, laughter, ritual, tradition, an undefined unity but above all I feel pure expression and eternal love. “

returns to MoBlack Records and resurrects the iconic Mona Ki Ngi Xica by none other than the
African revolutionary Knight, Bonga. A versatile and accomplished dj/producer, Tenerife’s
musical prodigy parses the 70’s original, injecting a bit of pep into its step to pique the soulful
danceability out of the legendary Angolan folk and semba singer/songwriter, born Jose Adelino
Barcelo de Carvalho’s saudade-saturated and politically charged requiem. Nestled in Latin
infused rhythms and romantic acoustics, Bonga’s effusive rasp cracks Fierro’s crisp beats,
tropical groove and voltaic fusillades, rendering a delicate 5:39 minute sojourn that captures and
retains the complexity of uncertainties from its time or any other, for that matter. Whether in
post/Colonial Angola where Mona Ki Ngi Xica was born, or within the exiled humanity of today,
MBR404 pins the universality of loneliness but handles it through curative motion all at once - a

We strive to create spaces where people can feel safe to express themselves, no matter their ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or social status. 

We aim to distill and deliver some of the core tenets of African music, namely dance and emotion, to provide some color and warmth in Berlin’s harsh grayscale palette.
