With a career that started in France, but spent predominantly in Italy, Idriss has become as hugely popular name on the circuit over the last few years, playing regularly at clubs like Echoes, Cocorico and Red Zone. 

Along with Fabrizio Maurizi, Idriss set up the Memento label in 2006, and has gone on to become a highly respected label that has released music from the likes of Argy, Okain, Blue Mondays, gAs and Idriss himself.  As a producer, Idriss has kept his productions exclusively for Memento, but also remixed for imprints like Mazoom Lab and Monique Musique

With DJ gigs coming up at Watergate and Cocorico this month, his Source to Cycle, recorded as a vinyl only Source set, and mixed on CDs for his Cycle set, perfectly encapsulates the current sounds and the influences from back in the day that showcases his style.

3 QUESTIONS to ELFENBERG:

Q: Thanks for sharing your roots. How did you guys meet once and how did you get connected with music?

A: We met 7-8 years or so ago through mutual friends. Sharing the same passion for music, producing, and DJ'ing it came pretty natural to join forces. We started throwing parties and playing together in Stockholm, but it wasn't until 2017 we started the 'Elfenberg' project.

Q: During Corona all clubs were closed, no artists were allowed to play their music. How did you guys spend your time?

A: It's sad, and it's been quite boring, to be honest, but we're all in the same boat and everyone on earth has been affected one way or another so there's nothing to do but to hang in there. We're spending more time in the studio these days but it's at the same time hard to find inspiration when you're not traveling/playing gigs. Hopefully, everything will get back to normal shortly. 

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: We have upcoming EP's on Rotten City Records and Stil Vor Talent but we're also spending more time and will continue to do so on our own imprint 'Trampoliner'. You'll see a couple of remixes from us before the year is over as well. Stay tuned!
