Solid Steel (26th September) Berlin duo Kim Brown are the guests in Hour 1, having released music on Freerange, Permanent Vacation, Just Another Beat and a recent 12" on Needwant Recordings. As they say "We did something a bit different, not quite the regular club mix. Well suited for rainy autumn days." It's a mellow start with music from Porn Sword Tobacco and Hauscka on City Slang, but soon hits a groove with tracks from Kiasmos,  Grandbrothers and Jouem, before closing with The Notwist.

With an eclectic arsenal of tracks and an ear for intercontinental sounds, BFAN (born Najib) is the acronym for “big fan of animals nation”. Born in Tunisia and now based in Germany, previously he had managed a Tunisian hip-hop studio record & nowadays he works as a film director working with theater project, acting and writing. Furthermore, it seems that the electro scene got him to entry into this insane-gorgeous-Berlin world of gigs, clubs and everything else.

BFAN's IST podcast 85th edition peppers his beats with exotic sounds from giving his sound an international flair. The basic idea behind this record was to present more African Blues&Jazz, based on the assumption that the electro audience have little understanding of this great African music. He carefully puts unknown gems from Algeria, Ethiopia, Mali and others to prioritise untypical tracks and thus also he sets moods whose are shifting gradually and naturally into something like a low deep plunging yet peaceful must-hear ride.
