Celebrated as Israel’s top performer and singer, Rita has explored numerous musical genres over the course of her 25-year career. Recently, she decided to reconnect with her Persian roots, bringing audiences an authentic and personal album inspired by her heritage.

Released in December 2011 and declared a “world music masterpiece”, ‘My Joys’ was created in collaboration with some of Israel’s top producers. It was an adventure for Rita, giving her the opportunity to go back in time to the heart of a rich culture and to rediscover the emotional, imaginatively written Persian music she grew up with. Sung in Pharsi, ‘My Joys’ encapsulates the highs of Rita’s early life in Iran – memories of her mother singing, family celebrations and other happy events. The vivid colors and textures of the Persian music take center stage through energetic, contemporary interpretations of the music which deeply affected her.”
