Organic Grooves #007 - Ghume (Montevideo, Uruguay)

Guzmán Nuñez aka Ghume, born in the city of Mercedes, Soriano, Uruguay. Since he was a child, he was attracted to the electronic sounds that at that time he heard from his older brother Germán.
His first influences were the DJs Fedde Le Grand, Supermode, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Tiesto, among others.

At the age of 14, after being instructed by the Djs Juan Carlos Mañan, Ruben Martinez and his brother, he made his first presentations at parties, discos and radios in his city.

Over time he got to know various sub-genres of House and related artists, feeling extremely identified with the most melodic and hypnotic genres, such as Progressive House, Deep House, Melodic House & Techno. Some of his references are Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, Kevin Di Serna, Fernanado Ferreyra, among others.

Currently based in Montevideo, it is in full growth. He got his residency at Signal.uy after being part of the brand's filming team and carries out his monthly podcast "Natural Selection", also making presentations at parties in the interior of the country and the capital.

His debut as a producer is through the Serbian label RYNTH, with his EP "La Piedra Mamut"

Elliot Moriarty is one of the most exciting artists to emerge into the realm of Electronic Dance Music. He started listening to and exploring music aged 11 years old, and it was clear from this early age that this was a real passion, which is why he remains more determined and focused than ever, as this passion has grown enormously over the years. Els, as he’s also known as, started off DJing at local parties and events, until his late teens, when the mighty @ministryofsound came calling. It was obvious at this point that he had a natural talent for the craft, and this was noticed immediately. Off the back of this first major gig, he successfully secured several bookings and went on to play at venues including Pacha, @edenibizaofficial, Cable Official, Lightbox London , Egg London, and also the now World famous We Are FSTVL. 

As Elliot’s journey progressed, the addition of wanting to make his own music became ever more apparent. He began making edits of tracks he admired, until eventually starting to release his own productions. His debut release on the infamous Seamless Recordings, is a true statement of his sound. The track which is entitled “Elixir”, has been described as “nine minutes of blissful enthusiasm”, and reached number 3 in the labels top 10 most popular releases chart on Beatport; nestling itself nicely amongst the likes of @leeburridge, @matthewdekay, @ianpooley, @joetvannelli and @hotsince-82.  

Fast forward 12 months, and with a string of releases under his belt, Els’s success is continuing to grow. His recent 2 track EP being signed to @djnickwarren’s @thesoundgardenrecords label is a real demonstration that his sound and ability warrants him being part of the Electronic Dance Music scene. Having received support from the likes of Nick Warren himself, @hernancattaneo, @petetong, @anthonypappa, Lane 8 and even @davidguetta, he shows no sign of slowing down and is certainly someone you should keep an eye out for!

Ritchies' musical roots began with a passion for the trance movement in the mid 90's and that distinctive Balearic sound. His love of soulful house and disco from the likes of Soulfuric Records and Defected tuned his ears to the structure of powerful melodies, wicked vocals and hitting the club scene to appreciate it all live. 

This was his inspiration to dive in to DJing and producing electronic music, which was soon followed by opportunities to perform in niche venues across London.

Since then Ritchie has performed at venues across the UK & Ibiza, with particular focus on the Capital scene including, Horse & Groom, Egg, Ministry Of Sound, McQueen, E1, Orange Yard, the incredible Ibiza Sunset Boat Parties, Eden and Pacha. Supporting brand promotions such as the famous Ibiza brand Pukka Up, London Sound Academy, ARRVL, The Gallery. EXiT, Selador.

His style fuses a range of influences from Nu disco, vocal, progressive & deep house right through to tech house and techno, depending on the time, space & environment.

His passion and love of progressive House, electronica & Deep techno, saw him co-found events and record label brand ARRVL 6 years ago - focussed on showcasing the music which takes followers & fellow genre lovers on memorable, emotive, musical narratives.

Ritchie also runs the house, disco and indie dance events brand, Social Beats, with over 20 events across London and beyond.

In the last 6 years, he has focused his attention to the production side, with a number of EP and single releases on labels such as ICONYC, Coldharbour, NYLO, 64K Recordings, Krafted Underground., Capital Heaven, Mango Alley and Manual. And there’s much more to come in 2024.
