In Eros' Desire for Agape, I show a three-part animated music video that reflects the relationship between two Greek loves, Eros and Agape.  The first part depicts an Eros love without Agape, the second an Agape love without Eros, and the third Eros combined with Agape.  The three-part song uses elements of R&B and Hip-Hop to compare and contrast Eros and Agape within a musical context.  Eros is not so much about a desire for sexual pleasure as much as passionate desire for a beloved, while Agape is a desire to give of oneself to another in tender mercy.  These are definitions I discovered through the work of C.S Lewis in The Four Loves, which highlighted the necessity and beauty of Eros while stressing the necessity for Agape, or Charity in Lewis' work, to mingle within it.  If one attempted to separate Eros and Agape from each other, these inherently good loves would be mangled forms of themselves and could turn love into either selfish pleasure seeking or cold, untouchable piety.  Combined, Agape guides Eros towards the divine heights, while Eros ignites Agape in a passionate desire towards being a gift to another.  One doesn't crush the other, but instead reinvigorates the other to complete love.

Bouncing Through Air

This was a first for lots of things: the first time I got to use my new turntables on a song, the first time I screamed out my lyrics, the first time I used a new setup in my studio to make a song.  It worked out gloriously!  Hope you enjoy my madness!
