West Coast producer Dave Aju introduces us to his latest musical venture with the launch of his new artist imprint Elbow Grease Records. Taking care of the inaugural release himself, on ‘X17’ Dave pays reference to the hypothetical particle and potential Fifth Force discovery, delivering a deep and soulful cosmic trip that teeters between warm and cold textures. The lead single is joined by two versions: an ambient ‘Viiibe’ mix and a stripped back ‘Rhythm Dub’, which suit different spaces and times.

If you are into discerning sounds of the house and techno region you are more than likely familiar with Cologne based, Dirk Sid Eno. 
The ‘Durch Die Nacht’ co-founder has come into his own in recent years, providing his own personal twist on sound with his productions that can frequently be found nodding towards euphoric and melancholic atmospheres on labels such as Dantze, where he will be displaying his forthcoming ‘Elysium EP’ this summer (2020).

Simultaneously his versatile DJ sets have become somewhat of a topic, he has the raw ability to intricately diverse between genres allowing different vibes to conversate with each other concluding in a wholesome sound that he is
fully invested in.

If you want to target just one of the pivotal moments of his musical journey thus far, you would most likely start with his ‘Morgens in Odonien’ EP, the change in momentum for Dirk as he landed this essential EP. Since the release in
2015 he has only accelerated in an upwards motion, showcasing his sound at the likes of Katzensprung Festival and Danish underground hub, ‘Ved Siden Af’.
Since its launch in 2018 ‘Durch Die Nacht’ has proudly settled itself firmly amongst the circuit in Cologne and beyond, leading the way for international, high quality bookings such as Magda, Ejeca, Britta Arnold & more.

An ever evolving mixed bag with Sid Eno, which is notably, if not, THE, underlying factor of why his fan base continues to grow, it is hard not to establish a fond connection with this character. It is his attention to detail that remains consistent, whether this is sampling sounds from his extensive world travels, or constructing a mood to mirror a pure reflection of a certain time or place; listening to his music is like a painting or a movie in the form of sound and you can “never leave until the lights come on”.

Argentina-born, Barcelona-based, Juan Francisco Ponte Della Giustina or simply DELLA is a young and promising composer, musical producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist performer with a not long but well-received list of signed works under his belt published on respected labels such as Anjunadeep, Quixotical, Logia, Critical Monday, Playground and HEARec, to name a few. Despite the tender age and a messy concoction of influences, DELLA has already managed to develop a sonority of his own that allows him to deliver a wide but related multi-genre output filled with creativity and audacity, outstanding features of his personality.

For his debut on the also young and promising Barcelona-based imprint Out Records, DELLA has decided to open his Techno & Leftfield vaults to deliver two stunning originals: “Coming Up” and the title track “A Little Stitious”. The former, premiered here, presents itself dressed to impress! Beautiful pads, groovy percussive elements, and frenzied breakbeats deliver a trippy dance-floor-oriented cut.

“Sempre a Correr”. The title chosen for Phoebe's new EP couldn't be more appropriate to characterize the music and life of the DJ/producer who goes by the name of Bruno Gonçalves.

Anyone who is, in fact, aware of what is being built on the clubbing circuit in Lisbon, away from the media attention, will hardly have not come across Phoebe. Whether as the founder of Troublemaker Records, at the helm of Rádio Quântica, as a programmer for the festivals Ano 0 and Rama em Flor, resident DJ at the mina or one of the pillars of Planeta Manas.
In the midst of so much activity, it's almost a miracle that Phoebe manages, at the same time, to create a highly idiosyncratic musical journey, in permanent sound mutation, not letting himself be imprisoned by expectations of obeying a rigid stylistic scheme.

The EP that now arrives from the hands of Extended Records (joining a luxury catalog composed of records by Diogo, Menino da Mãe, 2Jack4U, Lieben, EMAUZ, Savant Fair or V i L) has that urgency of someone who is always running in search of something, a light that illuminates bodies in the midst of the chaos of everyday life.

“Sempre a Correr” follows the EP that Phoebe released in the summer of 2021 on Rotten \ Fresh, entitled “if i was simple in the mind, everything would be fine”, an authentic exercise in catharsis between the noisy sound walls of shoegaze and the rubble of ambient, without ever losing sight of the dance floor and the rave appeal.

Since then, Phoebe hasn't stopped. At the end of 2021, he created the “Sweet Love Making” label with BLEID, through which the split “Love is patient, love is kind, love will make you lose your mind” (2021) came out, which included the songs “Marrazes” and “Causeway Bay”, authentic punches in the stomach from percussive polyrhythm.
Throughout 2022, without media fuss, several themes were released that help to map Phoebe's musical path, without ever seeing this puzzle completed (and thankfully): “Club Tool; “Down to Whatever;” “Estou Perdido”; and “K-LUBE 01/02”.

But “Sempre A Correr” belongs to another league. “Faz Essa”, the opening theme, begins with an abrasive synthesizer line that bridges some of the details explored in the previous EPs, but quickly reaches its focus, transmuting into a rave banger that stimulates the bodies that (only) find release on the dance floor.
“I'm Not Always In the Mood” turns it around. Solar synthesizers are reconfigured along with samples of broken voices, which are almost slogans of a life without pauses, but, for that very reason, imperceptible, without a simplistic transposition to everyday mundane life. Because there are moments so intense that not even words can translate.
The second part of the EP released by Extended Records begins precisely with the theme that gives the album its title. In “Sempre A Correr”, the track, the luminous synthesizers return, dazzling the eyes and skin of those who are still dancing when the sun begins to appear between the arrows of the rave. A theme that explores Phoebe's taste for the house music school, without fears, and with a highly urgent impetus.
The EP ends with “Importação/Exportação”, in which distant echoes of the percussive explorations of “Marrazes” and “Causeway Bay” are felt, these sounds now acquiring a body with a strong identity, which is astonishing for its multifaceted nature.

Bruno Gonçalves, or Phoebe, will always continue to run, there is no doubt about that. The new album proves that unstoppable urgency that distinguishes him and his music.
