Earthly Measures are excited to share the new ep from regular collaborator Palka with a fresh latin selvática sound, called Kulku.

An Electroacoustic ep mixed with strong latin influences : the presence of La Marimba throughout the whole release is a tribute to Panamanian and Colombian Afro Latin culture. The ep is a melting pot and fusion of more modern beats like slow Techno, Jungle & Footwork, with more Latin inspired Rhythms, including Merengue and Batea, sampled with Drum Kits. As well as studio recordings of flutes, percs, & guitars.

'' I actually was really fascinated by the vocals of the original, so I tried to find a proper translation but it seems that it’s a lost language so I couldn’t find one. This made it even more interesting for me though. It leaves more space for imagination: Is it a song used for rituals where everybody was dancing and had a good time? Is it a sad song which was performed when something bad happened in a tribe? What do you think? Consequently I tried to keep the edit as simple as possible because I wanted the vocals to be the most prominent part of the track. In my opinion, Cosmovision is the best place for this edit and I’m really thankful for them to share it with you/the world <3 As usual I picked 72 beats per minute, so I’m really excited and curious to see how people manage to mix it in a dj-set. Have fun listening and imagining.

estimua came into the downtempo/world scene about a year ago. His mission is to create more tracks that are below 90 BPM, so he started really slow with about 72 BPM. This song is a good example for it. At the same time he is a member of the Berlin downtempo collective called @slowtribe, They've already organized a lot of events at different locations for example with @n-u @peter-power @heimlichaufsc @voodoohop or @kamaimusic

Para el pueblo Mapuche, la llegada del verano o WALÜNG significa el comienzo de tiempos de abundancia, donde el sol se mantiene más tiempo en el cielo, llegan los frutos, maduran los cereales y la flora y fauna se fecunda.

Nosotros como Tchamma Yapu celebramos también la llegada de este WALÜNG, que en un año con un post eclipse representa mucho más, ya que al mismo tiempo tenemos la triple conjunción entre Júpiter, Saturno y Plutón que da paso a la nueva era de acuario, llamada la época de la nueva humanidad que todos esperamos.

Un momento preciso en el espacio tiempo para reunir a grandes exponentes y artistas emergentes del downtempo Chileno, para conformar este WALÜNG y marcar la llegada de tiempos mejores para todos juntos.
