"As the New Year appears, 2022 sees fresh music come into focus as Meanwhile Horizons welcomes Chris Zippel to the roster and his “Noosphere / Ombra” EP.
 
An iconic artist with a host of impressive production credentials to his name, Chris Zippel, has been at the vanguard of electronic music since the age of 15. His portfolio thus sees music writing credits for the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Norah Jones and Paul Van Dyk in a long and illustrious career. Splitting his time between his Berlin hometown and the party island of Ibiza, Zippel also has a raft of solo production credits to his name, dating back to a debut for Organic Records in early 2001. Since then, a cornucopia of underground electronic music has found its way onto the likes of Elektrolux, Parasol Phonotheque, Ubersee Music and Allisum Records.
 
Now debuting on GMJ and Matter’s sister imprint, Chris Zippel opens with the spellbinding “Noosphere”. Anchored upon a thumping beat and ticking hi-hat percussion, a rolling groove is the perfect bedrock for a hypnotic analogue bassline to propel the track forwards, accompanied by a smooth arpeggio and sympathetic melodic phrasing. The result is a rare and emotive combination that arouses hairs on the back of the neck as “Noosphere” builds in unrelenting fashion to a rousing dénouement in the second half.
 
Continuing the rich melodic building blocks of its partner track, “Ombra” is a slightly more relaxed affair with its beautifully sculpted analogue envelopes that simultaneously harness the spirit of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Georgio Moroder. A gloriously filtered arpeggio meanders across proceedings as white noise crashes and ethereal chord sequences paint a vivid sonic picture, gradually revealing itself across an 8-minute timeframe, atop a sumptuous undulating groove.
 
Out of the shadows, Chris Zippel is able to harness a sublime musical evolution, illustrated by his “Noosphere / Ombra” EP."

Sri Lankan producer Noiyse Project takes 'Reveal' on a driving progressive journey, while fellow Melbourne producers McKeown and Bassiray push their version of 'Killing Time' to a serious depth, in a dark and moody breaks version for the next release on Late Night Music.

Venus is the 20th release of Droid9 South America and the first release of the year 2022, releasing this new version format, remixes of songs that were already released last year.

Venus A side contains 3 remixes.
We present to Sebastian Busto, big artist from Argentina that had a lot of supports from artist like Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. He is in labels like Sudbeat, The Soundgarden and Replug among others. He is in charge of the “Rename It” remix by Francisco Castro released on our Apolo compilation last year. He offers us a pure progressive interpretation mixing new and fresh sounds. 

Be the Limit by Sinan Arsan is remixed by EMPHI, a young and talented artist. He brings us a spectacular version with his style and essence. The drop and breakdown turn it into a special track for the dancefloor.

Kabi (AR) debuted on Droid9 South America with a special remix for “The Other Side” by Aliens Like Us released in our compilation Afrodita last year. He did a very nice fusion between House groove and Progressive House melodies and harmony.

Sinan Arsan - Be The Limit (EMPHI Remix) [Droid9 South America]

onedotsixtwo is delighted to welcome Australia’s Tristan Case back to the label for a solo EP, following on from his first excursion with us as one half of Case & Barlow, who joined us with ‘Dorse’ back in 2019 (ODST018). Tristan’s stunning original titled ‘Bubble Modulators’ is complimented by a fantastic Maximo Gambini & Q.A.T remix and our label boss, Tripswitch, turns in an epic breaks interpretation. 

Tristan’s star has been in ascendance since he first joined us back in 2019, and he now revisits us with a stunning piece entitled ‘Bubble Modulators’. Based in Sydney, Australia’s Tristan Case is a long time resident of one of Australia’s premier festivals, Return to Rio, and has recently been releasing on respected labels such as Do Not Sit and Sound Avenue, with the formers release hitting number one on the overall Beatport release chart. 

The original is an epic ride, with Tristan’s signature written all over it. Deep rolling bass, soaring keys and syncopated vocal cuts build, twist, and turn into an explosive breakdown, and out the other side to a thunderous finale. Argentina’s Maximo Gambini & Q.A.T make a welcome return to the label following their debut EP with us, Stochastic Process, in the summer of 2021, and give Bubble Modulators their unique treatment, taking the original and giving it a more subtle flowing feel while retaining its raw energy and the addition of a breakdown fit for the biggest of stages. Lastly, but certainly not least, our very own Tripswitch gives us a multi-layered atmospheric breaks remix, taking the deep progressive elements of the original and fusing them masterfully into a euphoric breaks crescendo.
