Mel7em is a long-time Lebanese pianist and producer who kickstarted his new musical project in 2018. He released singles and EPs on various underground labels such as Dear Deer & Uxoa Dutxa Elite. We welcome him on Art Vibes with his ‘Broken Windows' EP presenting three of his latest productions.

‘Broken Windows', ‘Uncompromising', and ‘The Forgotten Tribe' are proper progressive melodic tracks blending oriental sounds with the power of all-electronic rhythms and grooves. Echoes of airy sounds mingling with stunning eastern melodies, yet remaining familiar to the ears of a contemporary electronic music enthusiast.

Turkish rising stars Lunar Plane gifted this EP with a club-oriented version of ‘Broken Windows'. No need to say this one is going to shake the dance floor this winter. Nacim Gastli's talent has always fascinated our audience and we are excited to have him remix ‘Uncompromising'. This time, he builds up this rework on a powerful trancy vibe. To complete this already eclectic tracklist, John Lead is back on Art Vibes to gift us with his own ethereal interpretation of ‘The Forgotten Tribe'. As always, the Portuguese producer designs the sound on point and the immersion into his alternate version is fascinating.

'R.I.P Bestia returns to Natura Sonoris with another euphoric EP. Titled ´African Burial Ceremony´, it consists of two beautifully nuanced originals and of an evocative Henry Saiz remix.

'Dreamlike melody meets all-enveloping atmospheres' is how you could briefly describe the title track. It has a hypnotic tribal groove, which pulsates with subtleties and instruments, setting the tone for the chanting voices you hear throughout. It's soft, it's warm, it's inviting but also musically rich, club driven and overall utterly satisfying. 

A second original of the EP, ´Own Empire´, is a more uptempo and faster-paced piece curated by powerful beats, spell-binding synthlines, enchanting vocals and acidic basslines turning the track into a real trip that will sink you into a fantasy state. Elegant and swirling, it will make you move whether you wanted or not. 

Last but not least is Henry Saiz's take on ´African Burial Ceremony´ who crafted an organic, driving track lead by the original tribal layers, magical chimes, elegant drum fills and lush distorted vocals that guide us to the deepest corners of our minds. Saiz's use of sonics has always been meticulous and sophisticated, always unfolding his signature touch, and this remix is no exception. Renaissance Records announced an exciting start to the new decade with fast-rising DJ & Producer Kiz Pattison, who makes a dual-debut as he releases on the label for the first time under a new alter-ego, KIZ with the ‘Insane’ EP, out on 24 January.

“I’m delighted to join the Renaissance stable,” says Pattison, “When they approached me they asked if we could look at a larger picture, so we decided to call our releases KIZ with a view to expanding to an album project, meaning the ‘Insane’ EP is merely the beginning!”

And what a beginning it is. The two-track ‘Insane’ EP perfectly captures KIZ’s unique, twisted-techno sound; a hypnotic, melodic groove which blends Chemical Brothers anarchy with Cox-like energy to standout aplomb. Underpinned by meticulous production, the EP delivers peak-time sounds with the sort of rare cross-genre appeal that will see it played far and wide. From the festival fields of the southern hemisphere to the world’s best dancefloors, expect those sought-after videos of crowds going, well, insane to happily clog the usual social platforms. “Both tracks have been designed for clubbers and dancefloors,” explains KIZ, “That hair-tingling, hands-in-the-air-euphoria is always at the back of my mind when I’m in the studio.”

Look out for KIZ’s album which is expected to drop early summer on Renaissance Records.

Kiz Pattison, based in Birmingham UK, started his production path just 7 years ago, making re-edits to suit his own djing needs. This quickly progressed to making his own original material, and soon led to remix work, and got his break when Lee Softley (Blue Amazon) included Kiz’s remix of Four Seasons on his 1st Interpretations album mixed by Renaissance legend Ian Ossia.Fast forward to the present and Kiz now boasts an impressive discography, in his productions he demonstrates an innate capacity to tease and voyage through a sea of dark shadowy, evolving & innovative electronic sounds with rolling percussion and his seemingly signature off beat hypnotic baselines. With his unique take on dark progressive techno it’s little wonder Kiz has been gaining support from some the biggest DJ’s the underground has to offer.The latter end of 2018 & 2019 proven to be a big 12 months or so, signing to labels such as Platipus, Bush, Dear Deer, Asymetric, Beatfreak, Perfecto Black to name just a few, and it appears there’s no sign of slowing down... 2020, looks like it’ll be more of the same.On top of this, his collection of remixes for some of the underground’s finest names, including Simon Berry, Luke Brancaccio and Pako & Frederik, while he’s also attracted the likes of the super cool Stelios Vassiloudis & Hernan Cattaneo on remix duties for his own originals..More recently, Kiz has gone back to his Dj roots to extend his darker sounds from the studio to behind the decks, he’s shown he can more than hold his own having djed along side the likes of Nick Muir, Dave Angel, Quivver, Luke Brancaccio, Stelios Vassiloudis, and most recently Dubspeeka.
