Robert & Lyric Hood’s globally revered house and techno project, Floorplan, return to Luke Solomon’s Classic imprint with ‘Like Dat’. As an early member of Detroit’s Underground Resistance, Robert Hood understands what it is to be the vanguard of a genre, now celebrating his faith through gospel inspired dance music with his daughter Lyric Hood. Together as Floorplan, the pair have built a strong relationship with Classic over the years, earning the respect of tastemakers like Seth Troxler, Dan Shake, TSHA and Jamie Jones thanks to their unmistakable gospel house and techno sound. Recent releases like UK radio favourite ‘We Give Thee Honor / Makes Me Wanna’ and underground cuts ‘The Curse Breaker / What You Need’ further proved Floorplan’s willingness to show their full talent at every turn. Now they continue this trend with ‘Like Dat’, a rolling house release built for the long club nights, accented by esoteric percussive sections and vocal stabs that cut through with ease.

Following the success of previous releases on Luke Solomon’s imprint, like UK radio favourite ‘We Give Thee Honor’ or esoteric club track ‘Like Dat’, Robert and Lyric Hood continue to dominate both festival and club stages globally, including Brunch Elektronik in Barcelona, The Warehouse Project in Manchester and Igloofest in Montreal. ‘What A Friend’ exemplifies Robert Hood’s legacy as an early member of Detroit’s Underground Resistance; vocal samples are chopped and dispersed brazenly over hard four-on-the-floor beats, creating club music that is sonically arresting, rhythmically enthralling and bursting with the attitude expected from Detroit’s legendary club scene.

New school house tastemakers Mason Collective make a big bang with their explosive Play It Say It label debut.

Mason Collective are a red hot outfit blowing up the house scene right now. The trio of DJs and producers hail from Manchester and next to their robust club tracks on labels like Whippin Records, Loco Dice’s Desolat and HotTrax, they also promote their own hugely popular - and always sold out - MVSON events.

Their no-nonsense style is here for all to see from the off; 'That's Gas' has a superbly programmed and tightly woven groove that is infectious and propulsive. Sci-fi sounds, filtered vocals and skewed synths peel off the urgent groove and demand you dance. The warm and rubbery 'Ready to Work' echoes Chicago great Gemini with its paranoid bass and vocals as well as high speed sense of house funk.

The wonky titular track shows another side to the collective: it's a freaky late night jam with daubs of melody, unhinged and wispy synths and a kinetic minimal house groove. This most expressive EP finishes with the slick tech and driving drums of 'Steezin', which has a flurry of 909s, taught bass and chopped up vocal sounds that will set any dance floor alight.

This is a fresh, high class take on house music from these contemporary stars.

'The Isolation Tapes came together accidentally during lockdown. Getting lost in the music-making process was our way to escape the feelings of anxiety and uncertainty which presented themselves with the emergence of Covid. We had no plan beyond escapism, but a cleared schedule gave us lots of time to explore new ideas. After we'd made a few tracks we started to realize the importance of bringing this music together under one project, a musical reference point for this strange period in time, and so the Isolation Tapes was born - a series of singles we made during lockdown whose titles all begin with a different letter from the word: I S O L A T I O N.' - Audiojack
