The new Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou

SOMEC (AKA Giovanni Napoli) is a self-declared electronics freak. He doesn’t consider himself a music producer as much as a synthesis junkie. The recordings he leaves behind are narratives of his explorations in sound, tracks left on his own research path. In it, every sound produced is born out of sheer love for the metamorphic qualities of raw but complex textural elements, their physical nature and their intuitive-spiritual connotations. The “Arbitrary Function Generator” tape EP is meant as an appetizer for the forthcoming “Source Of Uncertainty” 12”, while still remaing a separate creature. In each of these live-recorded, barely edited 4 tracks, technoid beats plunge in and out of dense modular abstractions, creating unconscious self portraits through bizarre soundscapes.
