We are very exited to present you the new release on our label: Boorane – “Thru Jazz to Mars” EP!
Although it's the very first EP of the project, these guys can hardly be called newcomers.  Boorane members already have the “street” credibility and style with the strong roots and skills in b-boying and djing, dating back to early 2000s, and can easily teach us a thing or two about the art of digging, beats programming, real swing and texture.  With previous releases on King Underground Records, Boora is recognized as  “the father of Russian beat scene”, no less. Together with his good friend and longtime collaborator on all fronts Krane, they came up with this many-sided work of beauty and depth. Soulful hip-hop beats meet heavily swung house, sophisticated techno and a nice slice of timeless electro, all based on obscure soviet samples, excerpts from long-forgotten scientific and documentary movies, chopped drum breaks and complex groove programming – created with the classic hip-hop set of tools: Akai MPC 3000 and E-Mu SP-1200. 
    On the metaphorical side of things “Boorane” is the clear reference to “Buran” - the legendary Soviet space program and the eponymous space shuttle! Beyond the mere name – the EP is loaded with sounds, related to the space exploration, including the shuttle engine start at the very beginning of this special music journey, leading us to straight into space with a reassuring hip-hop beat. 
    Boorane’s music has the capacity to work on so many levels. Being down to earth and clearly physical on the one hand, with the heavy grainy beats and gritty textures that are ready to shake the dance-floors, their music has an unmistakable timeless touch, yielding high aspirations and thoughts about space and time. The vivid example is “Find The Way” - a collaboration with the label boss Lay-Far – a real pacifist manifesto with its reassuring thoughts about the future of the world – “Love has got to find the way” and “step by step” are the phrases effectively repeated as mantras throughout the track, making us believe the prospect is just inevitable! Being influenced by the wide range of musicians, like Theo Parrish, Atjazz, Miles Davis, James Brown, Pete Rock, Dj Premier and notably Soviet jazz scene i.e. Mustafa Zade, Georgiy Garaniyan or Aleksey Kucenko, Boora and Krane find the way to make their deeply-rooted music instantly catchy and likeable, at the same time bringing something unique and refreshing to the scene. @forheavenuseonly-records, founded by French wunderkind Folamour, has quietly been releasing incredible music for almost a year. Currently, the discography includes two V/A comps and a collaborative EP between Folamour and Parviz. Next up for the label is a melancholic LP by the semi-mysterious producer Valentin Meneveau, aka @tochigi-canopy. In its entirety, the project is a meticulously expressive body of work spanning electronica, ambient, and deep house, and its immediate effect on the senses is a result of Tochigi’s unique ability to craft cinematic soundscapes that are more like audible paintings than songs.

A look into his world is a look into a kaleidoscope of ever-changing patterns that evoke mental images of nature, personal memories, and moments of nostalgia.“Collecting Things,” the second track on the A-side of the LP begins with the always calming sounds of birds chirping, a gentle intro to the warped, detuned synths that wrap the listener in an over-saturated state of bliss anchored by a percussive sequence that seems like a nod to pioneering hip hop instrumentalists like J-Dilla and Nujabes. A simple, chilled out bass line is the icing on the cake here, the perfect complement to a tripped out adventure into the deepest and most beautiful parts of your imagination. "14/08" is the first pre-single of JJ Whitefield’s solo debut album "Brother All Alone". On the new German Neo-Jazz label Kryptox / K7. Guitarist and producer JJ Whitefield is kind of a legend to many funk, hiphop and afro connoisseurs around the world. Before joining the Kryptox label he released albums on Ninja Tune, Stones Throw, Now Again and Daptone with his bands Karl Hector & The Malcouns, Poets of Rhythm, Whitefield and Rodinia. 
He also was the band leader and co-produced the two comeback albums of Ebo Taylor for Strut Records. The German multitalent has been living in San Francisco many years before coming back to Germany and now recording "Brother All Alone" - a Jazz Funk album with some of the best young heads from the new Berlin Hipster Jazz scene. The album could make some waves as Whitefield has prominent fans all over the world: From L.A. guys like Madlib, DJ Shadow, Dan Auerbach or Kemasi to UK Jazz heads around Gilles Peterson scene. Many of the albums of his former bands are cult. So this next step in his carrier could get some attention too!
