After 30 plus years behind the kit, touring nationally with bands of all genres (The Sweet Tea Project, Five Eight, Sonia Leigh to name a few), Mike Rizzi is set to release his debut solo record called “Appreciate What Remains” produced by Rizzi and John Driskell Hopkins, multi-instrumentalist of the Zac Brown Band.

The first single, “Great Divide” took off immediately. The video was picked up by CMT and has been in the top 10 requested videos for the 9 week allowance. The video represents the struggle being separated from his son, who lives in the Netherlands. Watch it here:  https://youtu.be/SipBxFJSDOw

The sound, ranging from Rock to Americana, Folk to Country, incorporating melodic, story-telling songs he’s been influenced by including Tom Petty, David Gates (Bread), Ray Davies (The Kinks), Neil Finn (Crowded House), and Pete Townshend (The Who). “When writing this record, I never had a conscious idea to make a particular style of song, the emotions and words drove me,” Rizzi explained.  “I always wanted the music to compliment the feelings my lyrics were trying to convey. The message though out the record is to find gratitude from all experiences, from the ultimate highs to the heartbreaking lows."
