It's been a while but I'm happy to upload this new instrumental which incorporates piano, strings, beats, synths, etc. It's got a slow build intro which pays off into some upbeat sections. I hope you enjoy it. Also, I think I'll make it available for DL as I've never done that before.

Had this piano piece kind of worked out for a while and now have found the time to build around it.  For once I am fairly happy with the result.  Perhaps it takes too long for the beats to come in but hopefully it's all worth the wait when it goes up tempo.  I hope you enjoy it.

Original text - It's very different for me, but I've had this 'beat' ready for a while now and have been listening to Meg and Say recently and just love the sound of the German language and thought it would be an interesting collaboration with my favourite German ladies. I must say that I am very pleased with what they have created, and so quickly too. Literally from my first contact to completion was about 2 days!

Three languages are used which is perfect for demonstrating what Soundcloud is all about. I've no idea what this genre is, but it's quirky, I like it, and I hope you do too. Merry Christmas!

Renouncement

A massive thanks to <a href="http://soundcloud.com/taraminton" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Tara Minton</a> for agreeing to take on this project. She wrote all of the lyrics cleverly around my 'Time to Rise' title and has come up with a beautiful and timely message. Some may recognise the piece from an earlier instrumental, but most things I write have vocals in mind and I've now had the chance to complete this one.

It was my first attempt at home recording from start to finish so I have learnt a lot in the process too.

This is the first time that I've allowed myself to be led by a melody rather than working out a chord structure first and find the melody next.  I've recently got married so love must be in the air!  I don't know what to do with this one, leave it as it is or add strings too.  Any thoughts?

This song is how is was originally intended and is now complete thanks to the amazing talents of Deni Hlavinka. I cannot thank her enough for first of all agreeing to do this and then for adding so much. Her harmonies are just stunning and she was almost telepathic in her ability to pick up the melody and expression that I had hoped for in the tune.

This song was written over 10 years ago on an acoustic guitar and to hear it now like this is a dream for me. I really cannot express my gratitude enough to Deni for working with me on this song.

Some people put the lyrics here but hopefully the mix is about right for them to be heard.

I was so pleased when Oliver agreed to add his beautiful orchestration to my latest piano piece. I cannot describe how amazing his choices were to me. So different from what I would have chosen but so beautiful and captivating and unique. It's taken the track to another level in my opinion.  The speed at which the man works is ridiculous. He may even be a machine!

The Journey (with Oliver Sadie)

A while ago someone asked if I could play any of my tracks on the piano, and you know what, I couldn't remember anything but the thing I was working on at the time. I don't read music so unless I keep playing a piece and commit it to solid memory and muscle memory, it just fades. That is the case with pretty much everything that I have written. I decided to relearn this one and I added to it as it never really felt finished. It took me a while but not being the best piano player, I am actually really proud of my own achievement to be able to play this all the way through. It has given me a hunger to learn pieces by famous folk to learn some more techniques as there is something about playing the piano that feels wonderful, especially something that really challenges my brain and fingers but which you overcome with patience and practice.

This awesome remix was actually by a talented Russian artist call Vadim Spark but was stolen by Megaclown who claimed it for his own. It's released under the Megaclown name unfortunately but just know that that doosh is a thief and scoundrel!
