Getting to Know RJ Comer…

Originally from Chicago, bluesy Americana artist RJ Comer often quips: “I was the only kid in Chicago that never missed an episode of Hee Haw.” He now lives in the Tennessee woods with his wife of 22 years and a dog that chases deer but never bites them.  
RJ has toured in Canada and throughout the United States, including a five-week stint playing and recording in New Orleans and official appearances at the Canadian Music Week Festival 2016 and the Key Largo Original Music Festival 2017. He has upcoming official appearances at SXSW, the Third Street Songwriters Festival (Baton Rouge, LA), and a return appearance at the Key Largo Original Music Festival.  RJ has also toured as the opening act for A.J. Croce and Steve Forbert.  After a show in Albuquerque, representatives from the New Mexico Americana Music Society described RJ as “refreshingly manly.”
RJ has released 2 solo EP’s and a single.  His single New Orleans Undercover debuted #2 on the iTunes New Blues Releases chart. His last release “Nightly Suicide” garnered critical acclaim and chart success on the Americana Music Association album chart.  RJ’s forthcoming LP “One Last Kiss” will be released in June 2018 and features fiddler Daniel Foulks (Parker Milsap band) and Grammy-winning slide guitarist Randy Kohrs (Jim Lauderdale, Dierks Bentley).
