Jean Kennedy is a jazz and classical guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter who comes from a rich family tradition of performing music. (She began performing at the age of 5!) As a teenager, she brought traditional Scottish and Irish music to audiences in the Northwest with the group Heather and Shamrock. Her love of music later grew to include classical and jazz guitar.

Today, she delights audiences throughout the Midwest with a one-woman show, offering the sounds of songwriting greats like Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rogers and Hammerstein, and Jerome Kern. Jean’s performance includes memorable musical moments from theater history. You’ll be swaying in your seat and smiling in your heart when Jean takes you on a tour through The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, The King and I.

In addition to performing, Jean has a thriving guitar studio in south central Kansas. Jean is also a member of the music faculty at McPherson College.
