The title track emerges via a slow paced wandering bassline, making for a gradually immersive intro. Padded with ethereal synths and aerial whizzes, Alone’s dreaminess increases tenfold showcasing the artist’s crafty melodic side. Hatzler jumps in on the remix, kicking off with a bumping bassline from the get-go. Injecting bass and grit is one of his known production traits, and he manages to give Alone a straightforward, still dreamy yet solid groove appeal.

Maksim Dark has already won some pretty influential friends over with his unique brand of groovy techno. The likes of Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Oliver Huntemann have shown support for other releases, and this release is set to solidify the standing of the young Russian in the techno scene. 'Dizziness' is well titled - its driving, pulsating groove is counterbalanced with fragments of melody and noise busts that give off a feeling of euphoric disorientation - a main room killer for sure. 'Revelation' stays on brand with yet another perfectly honed slice of techno gold - lean and pristine programming compiled with Dark’s exceptional ear for sound design make this a true weapon in the right hands. 'Saturn' closes out the EP- bringing Dark’s every present feel for groove to the fore with a swingy bassline and shuffled rhythm at its best.

Rostock's Carlo Ruetz, who many will known from his outings on Minus, SCI-TEC and ELEVATE, joins Matador's RUKUS crew with a brand new four tracker in 'Creatures'. It's sonically awesome ensemble of power cuts led by the title track. Also featuring on the release is 'Strangers', a track you can hear in full premiere on When We Dip today. This is a harrowing cut, pumpin' from the first kick drum. Ruetz combines a sleek, direct drum line with a lush melodic touch falling from a high synth to a brash low end element. Marco Resmann returns to Watergate after a productive stint at the Red Bull Music Studios in Cape Town with two stellar cuts featuring local heroes Deep Aztec and Black Soda. Tack on a remix from the one and only Oliver Huntemann and another revision from Resmann himself and you have the ‘Babylon Side’ EP.
Teaming up to kick things off, Resmann, Black Soda and Deep Aztec embrace the cultural sounds of Africa's organic percussion and vocal prowess to create a tour de force tune perfectly balance between flashing club lights and vast open skies. Following suit, ‘Abadala’ sees Marco again with Deep Aztec for a lush ride into deep emotional spaces by applying mesmerizing syncopated rhythms and spellbinding vocals ideal for deeper or more sentimental dance floor moments.

Up next is Techno legend Oliver Huntemann who, playing after Resmann earlier this year at the 15 years of Watergate event at Warung Beach Club in Brazil enjoyed his set and the two hit it off, so logically he was asked to lend his trademark sound for a revision of ‘Babylon Side’ and he twists the original into a heavy Techno belter complete with sinister sonics and fever inducing sirens. Wrapping things up is Marco Resmann himself with his own take on ‘Babylon Sides’ and delivers a wild and twisted version of gargantuan low end and psychedelic shimmers of the original vocal resulting in a killer tune with a ton of attitude.
