Pharma also dips into modern Big Beat and other electronic sub genres, made more prominent through remixes by artists like Odd Nosdam, Foodman, Traxman, Giganta, and more."

Coca Leaf was a collaborative birthed in the hot Florida swamp years ago. It was mistakenly tossed into the garbage heap, left to simmer and rot, and has finally been scooped up with wings outspread, emerging anew from the shitfire into a reincarnated binge in the Big City. Deep Marble Sunrise was sculpted from a series of brain-fried sessions in NYC taking place over some hot Summer days at Figure 8 Studios.
The manic ramping-up and the inevitable come-down intertwine here. The party and the empty vaccuum that follows. For this LP, the group is comprised of multi-instrumentalists ZZ Ramirez (Destruction Unit, Ukiah Drag, etc), David Vassalotti & Carson Cox (Merchandise, etc), and Ben Greenberg (Uniform, etc). The cuts follow their impulses freely, coming up with a strange combination of hard funk, jazz, noise, no-wave, free improvisation, and dub.
For fans of Dad’s Brown on Brown, the great Neon Blud or any of the band members’ other groups, this is sure to be a summer favorite and soundtrack to all-night parties everywhere.

@muxmool released “Implied Lines” in 2016 independently on Bandcamp. On June 2nd, 2017, Implied Lines is getting an overhaul and proper release with Detroit label Young Heavy Souls.

On Thanksgiving 1989, Kmart employee and audio enthusiast Mark Davis wandered behind the customer service desk to check out the store’s sound system, which looped muzak and top 40 plus ads and announcements under the banner of “KMRT, The Kmart Radio Network.” When he found last month’s tape hadn’t been thrown out yet, he pocketed it and made a habit of doing this, collecting 56 tapes from 1989-1992.

In September 2015, Davis uploaded the tapes to archive.org with the humble intention of preserving them. But within a few weeks he became an internet celebrity among obscure media fans and supplemented the collection with reel-to-reel tapes from the 70s and 80s thanks to Tom Schwarzrock, who acquired them serendipitously along with a deck he purchased. The tapes are like a consumerist time capsule, a vaporwave trove of eerily familiar corporate ephemera extracted from its original context and purpose.

Similarly, Attention Kmart Choppers is composed of pieces from this collection chopped up, resculpted, and mosaicked together by Juicy The Emissary, forming a new, distinctly contemporary sound while inheriting a haunting nostalgia that provokes memories burrowed deep in the subconscious.

Claude Speeed returns to Planet Mu, two years after the 'Sun Czar Temple' EP, with his second album 'Infinity Ultra'. He describes the record he's been creating since he started making computer music as one "conceiving an interior territory: an abstract space to process the oppression, confusion and insanity of the contemporary age; and to formulate an honest emotional and artistic response - a psychic jumping off point into an uncertain future." 
 
'Infinity Ultra' takes inspiration from sleep paralysis, monumental artworks, children’s anime, abandoned places, ghostly rave pasts and terrifying silicon valley futures, and the limitless anger of the digital present.
 
These influences have been channelled into an impressionistic burst of varied creativity: Shimmering VSTs; monolithic noise; euphoric blocks of colourful sound; trance stabs and the citrus rush of hardcore; towering drones, and skynet math rock – all rendered against cold, sinister space and nostalgic synth melodies.
 
The album reveals the artist’s Scottish roots, viewed at a hazy distance from his Berlin home - a series of memories of Glasgow’s experimental psychedelic underground, its DIY rock scene and defiant club hedonism. These genre relationships are blurred and at times they contrast with audible brutality; the result is a hybrid, sculptured way of rendering music – minimal specifics, maximum emotions.

From the full-sized LP of mindful bangers "Blow The Fuck Up But Stay Humble," More Or Les brings the heat on "Cuppa" (as in "not everyone's cuppa tea"). Self-produced stuttering drums, hyper scratching and bottomless 808 bass serve as the backdrop for Les' lyrical declaration of independence, effortlessly stating his pride in being "not-your-typical" rapper. On the production side, fellow Texan Creepside assists on the haunted “Y Riddim” while Los Angeles’ TenTwentySeven adds a lithe dembow energy to “Syngian”. Through the collaborations though, Panch and Sines’ signature sound is present throughout Penitencia, found in the high tension progressions and synesthetic patterns that hue the entirety of the release.

Having previously released on Infinite Machine and their own Majia label, Santa Muerte have become one of the staples of American club music, crafting out a foothold in a booming Houston scene and gaining fans the world over. Penitencia is rounded out by remixes from two other contemporary titans, the first a revved up effort from NAAFI’s Zutzut and the latter a moody take from Symbols boss Kastle. The two remixes finish off a package that sees Santa Muerte continue pushing their expansive vision of hybrid club music, this time bringing a number of fresh faces into their increasingly large tent.
