"R.Kitt returns to his Orainn imprint with Kinda Strange, his first dispatch of original material since 2020 and most succinct dancefloor statement to date. Two energetic pumpers steeped in melodious warmth and kinetic intimacy that are primed to soundtrack the field dancing season
ahead.

This latest single from the Dublin-based musician finds itself in radically different circumstances to its 2020 predecessor Orainn 02. Needless to say, R.Kitt has spent much of the time in-between embracing his beloved dancefloor again both as spectator and musical provider. These experiences have confounded our subject, whilst relieved at dancing’s return, also finds its current iteration Kinda Strange. In response, he delivers his most potent statement to date on the third installment for his label.

Fast Breeze answers the question “what if Tony De Vit was a Café del Mar resident?”; galloping along a pumping hard house core smothered in a warm balearic intimacy that drops in wistful ecstatic glee throughout its blissful duration. Feeling Kinda Strange is a shade moodier, where a nagging feeling haunts this nocturnal techno roller. Punchy arpeggios signal the intent, before emerging into daylight by embracing a dew-glowed ambience that offers a true-to-form optimism. Club music, but brazenly honest; we wouldn’t have R.Kitt any other way."

Lex’s DJing traverses sounds and worlds through to uplifting sounds of breaks, UKG, prog trance, and bass heavy oddities. Following years of grinding as a support act for some of the best DJs in the world, including Omar S, Willaris K, Baba Stiltz, DJ Boring, Brame & Hamo and Peggy Gou, the past few years has seen heer move up the bill to one of the most in demand local acts in the country. Naturally, she’s also hosted mixes for the likes of Rinse FM, triple J and FBi Radio, and host’s the most popular show on community radio station Nomad Radio, Club Ex Ex.

Calm Stiege provides the inaugural release South-London label Funky Adjacent. The 2020 winner of the Point Blank and RA music scholarship brings his infectious production skills for his EP ‘Dance Classes’. Almost a year since his official debut E.P ‘Dumb Dumb’, Calm Stiege has seen plays everywhere from NTS to HÖR to Fabric. Along with Spotify playlisting from the likes of Jyoti Radio, XL Play and Keep Hush Radio.

On this 5-track project the South-East Londoner delivers 5 groovers perfect for the dancefloor and encapsulating some of the different sounds that the label has been pushing over its first year as (initially) a monthly AAJA Radio show and though the regular parties held throughout 2023.

The long-standing AAJA Radio resident cherry picks elements from his go-to genres including UK Funky, Amapiano and Soulful House with his first track ‘Amarish’. The track kicks off the E.P with a slowly building, chilled out concoction of melodies and syncopated percussion, perfect for more mellow moments.

The next three tracks are all heavily influenced by the old school funky sounds that came around 2010. The first two (‘Lion Bar Riddim’ and ‘Dance Class’) rely on more lighthearted, groovey rhythms that you might expect at summer day party. While ‘Cushion Dance’ is a slightly heavier, bass drivin stomper made with the club in mind.

‘Logging On’ rounds off the E.P with an amapiano and Gqom inspired track. Utilising the traditional Log drum to drive the track forward while incorporating some of Calm Stiege’s signature flute sounds heard on plenty of Calm Stiege’s other works.
