This summer sees the second instalment of Faux Poly’s remix compilation series. Round 2 features an eclectic selection of artists close to and admired by label bosses Kassian.

Kicking off the compilation is a cavernous, trance inspired reinterpretation of Kassian’s ‘No Clear Shape’ by Manchester’s Homoelectric resident Gina Breeze. Following is Will Hoffbauer with a characteristically leftfield flip of Ste Roberts’ ‘Diego’s Mad Hour, who’s somehow gotten away with dunking a huge techno track into his bubble bath.

Another highlight comes from Rotterdam-based duo Black Cadmium, stepping up for their first ever remix together. Their dark electro inspired take on Ste Roberts’ ‘Dirty Politician’ is bursting with energy, holding onto the mood of Ste’s original with their own added signature groove.

Completing the lineup is London’s Third Son, Niceup, Void Complet, plus contributions from label bosses Warren Xclnce and Danvers.

There’s a science here—call it phase-transition groove: the moment the track seems to solidify, something opens and the whole structure liquefies again, running downhill toward the next bar, the next break, the next impossible blue-lit horizon.
