Gourmandisque releases its third digital EP and the label's first VA, "GMD 003", featuring Doublure, Theo BR, Pépé Elle and Pilù. The release develops progressively from trance-infused house, into UK Garage, finally reaching a bewitching melodic techno. 

GAB premieres 'Darkest Light' from London-based Theo BR. As founder of 3 Feet Deep and co-founder of Aurore 404, Theo BR has been instrumental in building the London-Paris UKG connection. His contribution to GMD003 flips Lafayette Afro Rock Band's classic melody sampled most-recognisably by Jay Z and Public Enemy.

Originally released in 1975 on Gapophone Records, George Prah’s label, hailing from Ghana. Only available in very limited quantity (reportedly 500 copies) due to the musical vacuum imposed by the military dictatorship in the country at the time.

Laid back, lush, highlife vibrations from start to finish, with noticeable reggae influences throughout.

Growing up in Spanish Harlem, Willie Bobo began on the bongos at age 14, only to find himself performing with Perez Prado a year later, studying with Mongo Santamaria while serving as his translator, and joining Tito Puente for a four-year stint at age 19. Bobo went on to become one of the great Latin percussionists of his time, a relentless swinger on the congas and timbales, a flamboyant showman onstage, and an engaging if modestly endowed singer whose music largely reflected the traditions of Harlem.

One of the greatest jazz trumpeters of all time.
Gillespie was a trumpet virtuoso and improviser, building on the virtuoso style of Roy Eldridge[3] but adding layers of harmonic complexity previously unheard in jazz. His beret and horn-rimmed spectacles, his scat singing, his bent horn, pouched cheeks and his light-hearted personality were essential in popularizing bebop.[citation needed]

In the 1940s Gillespie, with Charlie Parker, became a major figure in the development of bebop and modern jazz. He taught and influenced many other musicians, including trumpeters Miles Davis, Jon Faddis, Fats Navarro, Clifford Brown, Arturo Sandoval, Lee Morgan, Chuck Mangione, and balladeer Johnny Hartman.
