i couldn't really hear the metronome, which i would like to use as an excuse for any off-beat parts

someone else helped me master it

im proud that i could figure out the string synth parts

I like to dream up imaginary characters.
This guy is called Leif Lennart and is working as an executioner in a small Swedish municipality.
 
Guitar part written around 2016, lyrics mostly written while recording. 

Guitar recorded with 
- a Kustom 16w practice amp turned up way loud
- POD XT Live for reverb
- a Scarlett 2i2 interface with high gain to get some nice clipping going. Some random mic
- cheap Yamaha strat clone tuned to open D
- No postprocessing

Vocals the same mic+preamp but with reverb and overdrive from ableton (I did 2 takes that I didn't like and decided to use them both)

Recorded on midsummer 2018 because I couldn't be bothered with traditions and the office I recorded it in was nice and empty.

What I like about this song:
- Silly subject
- Guitar parts are alright
- The scream came out pretty nice

What needs to be improved for any future songwriting attempts:
- More instruments
- Vocals (clarity, pacing, monotony, ...)
- Lyrics that are not forcefully written on the spot to fill in gaps
- Maybe not actively trying to make it sound like it was recorded inside of a trashcan
