It should be no secret by now that Holldën has a knack for carving deeply infectious and groovy cuts, singularly adding to their dancefloor vocation successive layers of emotional subtext and blunt rhythm dynamics.

On 'Blackout Serenades' -- his first EP in 2024 -- he makes this pledge ring ever more true, steam rolling the techno firmament with a diverse system of sonorous weaponry that shows him comfortably handling different floor moods, both raw and festive.

Case in point, you can't go wrong with Call Me Nation's zany ecstasy, Back Alley Niceties' immersive flirtation, Sugar Me Raw's irresistible slickness and True At First Lie's quasi-tropical assault.

HARDPROOF VA Series Returns To Marcel Fengler’s IMF Imprint. Since 2011 the Brandenburg-born sound craftsman has sought to introduce new and younger talents via his imprint Marcel Fengler Index (IMF). A commitment he doesn’t plan on stopping soon.

Gareth Wild is synonymous with London’s techno scene, a landscape he has helped shape with his EarToGround label and via his imitable presence as a resident of Fold. On ‘Switchblade’ he instils a tense energy from the off employing a rolling kick and industrial percussion that are set to a swirling windstorm. The core beat is unwavering methodically churning its way through clanking metallic tones and stormy reverb before sharply ending.

CF Premiere: Martin Villalba - El Dictador del Cielo [Tlaloc Records]

Techno Raver

A relentless, driving cut built on a minimalistic low-end with hypnotic percussion. Metallic bells weave through a rolling kick while tension builds layer by layer before breaking into a a punchy drop.

Youth of March

Techno DJ and producer Michael Klein has been consistently putting out solid work for years, a habit that has made other DJs - among them Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing and Laurent Garnier - look to Klein's releases as reliable fodder fit for a variety of moods at any given party. Born in Frankfurt and trained in classical piano as a child, Klein cut his clubbing teeth at the likes of Robert Johnson and Cocoon. He then moved to Berlin where he cultivated his dark and groovy sound, assisted by his studies in sound engineering, and earned a residency at the beloved, now-closed Stattbad. 

Klein is prolific but versatile, and these qualities come to the fore on his latest release, the Hoisin EP for Second State. The title track, 'Hoisin', is a shapeshifter, switching gears from mesmeric, winding bass and rhythmic bleeps to minor, eerie builds, cheeky drum rolls, and more energizing chords. 'Bite' is more urgent, kicked along by impatient percussion and an acidic bass burble. 'The Signal' is the EP's biggest moment, destined to be a highlight of not just Klein's sets, but others', too.
