This is excellent, I love the melodies on the cello. And the mixture of musical elements really makes it extremely unusual and interesting to listen to!

Amazing percussive works, so pure! Love the folkloristic influences - very nice athmosphere!

Today, the city is still legendary for its second line brass bands and brightly costumed Mardi Gras Indians. But if you've rolled through New Orleans on pretty much any night in the last 30 years, you've probably heard another sound—the clattering, booming, hip-shaking, chant-heavy roll of bounce, a form of hip-hop music, dance and culture unique to the Crescent City. Pulling from the national mainstream but remaking it the way that only New Orleans can, bounce has become a sonic touchstone for an entire generation of residents. Coco Kahi is a Nairobi-based DJ, producer and storyteller known for her genre-bending sets where global beats meet Afro roots and high-energy club sounds. Blending Afro-electronic rhythms with experimental layers of drum & bass, garage, techno, dubstep, gqom, hip hop, afro-house, amapiano and baile funk, she delivers dynamic sets fueled by original productions, heavy edits, and bold transitions. Nicknamed the 'Energy Bunny' for her electrifying stage presence, Coco Kahi ignites dancefloors with a signature sound that unites cultures, defies genres and keeps every crowd moving.

Sunken Cages is the moniker of drummer/electronic music producer Ravish Momin. He studied with US Jazz master-drummer Andrew Cyrille. He has worked as a sideman with a wide array of musicians from Shakira to avant-Jazz legend Kalaparush Maurice McIntyre (AACM/Chicago.)  In addition, he has also led his own Jazz/global group Tarana and Turning Jewels Into Water (with Val Jeanty) on international stages for the past 14 years.
As Sunken Cages, Momin plays electronic and acoustic drums, and triggers melodies and textures. While rooted in Indian and Black Music traditions, he is also influenced by the street sounds of underground dance music from Sao Paolo to Durban to Mumbai and beyond.
He is signed to OnTheCorner Records (UK) and Akuphone Records (FR.)
He has done remixes for Depeche Mode, renowned global electronic music producers Batida (Portugal) & Babani Sound System (Mauritius.) He has recently performed at Big Ears Festival (US), LeGuessWho? Festival (NL), Positive Futures Festival (Austria), Lincoln Center Outdoors Festival (New York City, US), Slingshot Festival (US) and Festival Congedi (Italy.)
