The Toast & Jam Remixed series brings 2021 to a close for us with Jackal & Hyde’s Shatter Remixed and a pair of properly massive tunes from the likes of Rennie Pilgrem & Propa Dropa. The Rennie Pilgrem remix takes Shatter in a tech-funk direction while incorporating the original vocoded Jackal & Hyde vocals with a rapid-fire sine wave bassline. Propa Dropa sets up the vibe with a chunky breakbeat drum kit and a low droning bassline, capped off with some arpeggiated synth work for a dark yet uplifting feel. Inspired from his travels across the globe, Ryan Nicholas Berretta’s journey propels you headfirst into the experimental world of sound design & innovative production. Captivated early into the performing arts, he began piano by the age of 3. Self-taught & practiced by ear, his foundational roots would originate from the inspirational likes of classical favorites Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Tchaikovsky & more. By the age of 12, evoking a unique blend of diversity, he continued to advance his knowledge of arranging experimental ensembles. At the age of 16, invited by his brothers into a recording studio for the first time, he wrote an instrumental piece to go on their upcoming record in 1998. Immediately inspired from this experience, he began to teach himself audio technical, production, foley & sound design. Now back in the U.S. & based out of Orlando, Florida; Ryan is currently composing his forthcoming movements while accelerating his efforts to  develop & expand his other creative projects.
